Japan Regional Overview

When we think of a Japanese winter one word comes to mind - powder. Thanks to its location due east of the prevailing winds off of Siberia and China, Japan often experiences some of the deepest snow in the world. With hundreds of resorts spanning from the northerly island of Hokkaido to the Southern Japanese Alps on Honchu, it’s easy to see why this country is a destination for powderhounds of the world.

Touring in Japan can be fleeting - when storms rolls around, and that can be often, you're likely ripping bottomless tree laps and waiting for conditions to settle before putting skins on. That's why a setup that can handle both sides of the coin really shines. The new Line Sakana rips piste with the best of 'em, and really hammers above its class in the soft stuff thanks to a big tapered nose. Combine that with the Salomon Shift bindings and you've got yourself a dual threat setup that really shines when you decide to go on a walk for the untracked once the inbounds terrain is shredded.

On the outerwear front, the Armada Basin GORE-TEX kit pairs premium waterproofing and breathability with Armada's tech fit - ideal for movement yet still fully capable of hanging in the resort lapping the trees or terrain park.

Frequent snowstorms means challenging visibility and fierce winds, so saddle up with the all-new Dragon PXV Goggles and the burly Oyuki Peg Trigger Mitts. The goggles are crafted with a new toric lens curvature Dragon calls Panotech that improves peripheral vision (sounds good for those Japanses aspens!) and use a Super Anti-fog treatment and Lumalens® optimized color tints. The Pep Trigger Mittens combine awesome warmth with the thumb dexterity and a GORE-TEX laminate for premium hand protection in the deep stuff.

Finally, protect your dome with the new POC Obex Spin Helmet. This stylish helmet uses POC's SPIN shearing pad technology, wich protects your head in the event of a rotational impact.
