    Comments about K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis + Marker MX 12.0 Bindings 2013:

My goal during a day of skiing is to hit the moguls early on if there is not a fresh layer of snow blanketing the mountain otherwise I seek out unique early powder runs. What I am not is a speed freak, though I can hit the speeds like the rest of them, but that isn't my goal. I enjoy engaging the mountain in a more technical pursuit of moguls and tree bashing. I find these skis lend themselves to that type of skiing.

During Christmas of 2012 my family and I were staying at Copper Mountain Colorado and I was renting the demo ski ski packages. My first day was not on the K2 Amp Rictor and after returning that pair of demo ski's that frankly were not up to par, I was excited to try the K2 Amp Rictor skis.

I rented and eventually bought the 181s and was very impressed having skied on them for three days straight.

I have found that they behave very well when needing quick turns in the moguls or pounding through general crud; again they hold up very well for each of those conditions. I don't want to make a judgment on powder because I would be comparing them to 205's I used to ski on and I haven't enough true powder days to really quantify them. The powder I have skiied, they hold up well, but they are not true powder skis.

Primarily the ski's hold up well and where I point them, they both go in parallel with no swishing nor sliding and I have confidence in all types of snow.

One other reviewer I read the K2 site said that one of his skis was chattery at high speeds and to that end, I can't say that has happened to me and I surmise he had anomolies in the snow surface, maybe not groomed(?), which caused it. I found the ski to be as designed to be able to handle speed, but this is not a slalom ski.

The width of the ski and length that I bought makes it a good mogul ski for reasons mentioned above. It seems like just the right compromises have been made to provide a good all around ski. It is not a true mogul ski and could bend more, but my preference when skiing the rest of the hill on a more flexible ski makes my whole skiing experience lessoned and I truly prefer what this ski has to offer.

While at Copper on the previous to last day of the demo, I purchased these skis from EVO and have skied four more times on them to great enjoyment.

      Comments about K2 A.M.P. Rictor Skis + Marker MX 12.0 Bindings 2013:

In my mid-30s and have been skiing for almost 30 years, advanced ability skiing mainly blues and blacks. I like being able to get out for first runs and being able to ski through the day without the worry of hitting crud and having to slow down.

These skis are the first skis that I have been able to literally float above whatever is on the slope!! If its icy, the skis just seem to know what to do and cut through it. Likewise when it starts to turn slushy in the spring, you won't get bogged down. Going down the slope, you will be able to cut through and glide out of the turns. Because they seem to read your mind when you want to turn, these skis have saved by (you-know-what) more than a few times!

After I put them away last year, couldn't wait for this season to start and still super happy with them!

BUY THEM!!! You won't regret it!

I researched skis that would work well both in the East (Hunter, Killington) and West (Snowbird), since we ski both every year. I purchased a set for my son and he loved them. When I tested them, I did not want to give them back to him, and as soon as I came back,I purchased another pair for myself!

Borrowed from a friend spring 2013. Went out and bought my own. Would by a Rictor Jr for my kids if they made it! Carves on ice and plows/ carves right through spring crud. I dont ski moguls or ski as fast as I used to. East coast ski! Never got to try on real snow. That front rocker is the way to go! Great way to spend a day.

Made in one weekend of spring skiing. This is my second pair from the A.M.P. series. Absolutely nothing bad to say so far. Cam-rock is forgiving for a slightly stiffer ski. I think they look amazing (if you're into high-impact colors). Got a chance to look at the new 2014 model. Pick these up while you can. New models have the cheaper Impact model bindings and the graphics are not as good in my opinion.
