Named after its disastrous effect on rails and boxes, the Bataleon Disaster Snowboard should not be messed around with lightly. Within this board is a godly amount of grinding power and appetite stemming from the Jib TBT, which slightly flattens out the typical upward slanted sides to give you more board-rail grip and a Bi-Ax Laminate for protection and longevity. Built using Pop Core technology, immeasurable ollie power and snappiness will get you onto those taller rails. A powerful force that beckons to be messed with, the Bataleon Disaster Snowboard is ready to destroy rails the moment it hits snow.
Triple Base Technology (TBT) – Triple Base Technology divides the nose and tail area into 3 parts: 1. The left sidebase for turning left. 2. The center flat middle base for going straight. 3. The right sidebase for turning right. Combining a full tip to tail classic camber with a rail to rail concave, it gives the looseness of a rocker shape board with the pop and response of camber. On edge, the camber is loaded and ready to pop you into your next turn. Meanwhile, the edge is fully engaged with a solid power distribution along a smooth edge curve.
Flex Rating: 2 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) – A soft flex, designed for jibing and taking on urban features. 2-3-2. Slightly stiffer waist versus the tip and tail. Great for pressing, sliding, and urban jibbing.
Jib TBT – Jib TBT is great for jibbing and urban riding. The TBT is completely symmetrical about the nose and tail. The profile of these boards is trapezoidal giving a slightly cambered overall shape. On the center base section, instead of a smoothly curved camber there are three flat sections: The boards are flat between the feet with two flat sections at the nose and tail and are angled slightly so that the center section is raised off the floor slightly when it is not under pressure. this allows the board to carve like it's cambered and press like it's rockered! On the side bases, the TBT uplift begins under your feet for a super loose and forgiving effect, with the TBT uplift angles minimized as works best on rail boards. The extra center flat base width stabilizes your slides and presses.
Twin – Completely symmetrical geometries and flex from tip to tail
Pop Core – Snappy, flexible poplar wood that gives it a soft flex without sacrificing strength.
Bi-Ax Laminate – Bi-ax laminates over and under the wood core include fiberglass layers aligned in two directions at 45 degees to the edges. This creates an easy and forgiving flex, which allows you to really feel the terrain.
Extruded Base – Easy to repair and takes a beating! Low maintenance and still slides well with irregular waxing, not that the guys at Bataleon are condoning anything other than a militant waxing regime (like Rihanna's).
Wide Pattern 4 x 4 – The 4 x 4 / 16 insert pack allows for a wide range of stances and is great for rocking them extra wide.
