With the ability to change its travel and suspension settings with a flick of the TwinLoc lever, the bike is primed for any climb--rough or smooth. When it's gravity time, it has 150mm of smooth Fox suspension to go with its big bike geo, and the brakes to handle any deceleration demands. Electronic shifting? Got it. This Genius leaves an all-mountain rider wanting for nothing.
Genius Carbon Main Frame with Alloy SL Swingarm
Evo-Lap Carbon Technology – Thanks to this extensive computer modeling, Scott optimized the carbon layers in all the parts of the frame. When the parts were bonded together in the first prototypes, the result was a super light and compact frame without sacrificing the stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. This allows them to make the most efficient layup possible.
TwinLoc Suspension System – With TwinLoc, a rider can effectively control the complete frame, fork, and shock as a system. Why does this matter? A bike with 150mm of suspension travel, correctly set up, has more sag than a bike with 130mm. It's that extra travel that makes it more fun to ride and more capable on the descents, but the greater sag has an oversized effect on the bike's geometry and climbing performance. That's where TwinLoc matters. Via a handlebar remote, you can choose from three bikes in one!
Fox NUDE TR EVOL Rear Shock – What the TR allows you to do is to select what sort of progression you would like in Descend mode: more linear, or more progressive. By flipping the Ramp Adjust Lever, you can decide how your shock behaves while descending. A more linear shock gives a rider the same amount of support throughout a shock's travel. The suspension is supple throughout, and is "easier" to reach the end of the travel, or "bottom out."
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Open, Medium, Firm Compression Modes / Rebound
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure, Lockout, Traction and Descend Modes (Linear to Progressive Custom Ramp Adjust in Descend Mode), Rebound Adjust
ICCR Cable Routing – Routing the cables internally omits bulky external hardware and looks cleaner. The cables can endure a longer lifetime as they are protected within the frame. The entry points are machined alloy removable inserts that come along with the frame and can be chosen according to the setup of the bike. Assembling an electronic group or a dropper post will not be a problem and the look will always be clean-cut.
Genius Trail Geometry – Compared to the previous iteration, this one is slacker, has longer reach, shorter chainstays and a steeper seat angle. We really wanted geometry figures that would balance out the long front end for more stable descending. What they've ended up with is a bike that climbs like a bat out of hell and gets you down the mountain faster than you can say "dropping!"
DT Swiss Thru Axle – Working together with DT Swiss, Scott completely revisited the shape of the thru-axle lever to make it more ergonomic and to perfectly fit their frames.
SW Dropouts – These dropouts are designed to be integrated on the thru-axle system thanks to a hollow tubular design that allows a simple and lightweight structure. Available for SRAM and Shimano DM derailleurs, this dropout increases the stiffness and avoids damage to the frame in case of impacts on the rear derailleur.
Fox 36 Float Performance Elite – With its new floating axle, lower leg channels, and bleeders, Fox has shown that they can still improve the legendary 36. This one's stiff, light, and immensely tuneable.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure, Hhigh Speed Compression (8 Clicks), Low Speed Compression (16 Clicks), High Speed Rebound (8 Clicks), Low Speed Rebound (16 Clicks)
SRAM X01 AXS Eagle – At a glance, Eagle AXS brings the real benefits of wireless electronic shifting to the mountain bike. On a deeper level, it offers discerning riders unprecedented personalization and control of the drivetrain. On the bike and off. Deepening the relationship between machine and rider. This addition to the Eagle ecosystem enhances capability. Removes complexity. And provides riders an experience like never before imagined.
Shimano RT-66 6-Bolt Rotors – 203mm Front / 180mm Rear
Shimano XT 4-Piston – The system adopts a power transfer system in which the disc brake rotor is pressed by the smaller sized piston at the entrance of the disc brake rotor intake and also by the more powerful larger sized piston at the back. This prevents the wobbling motion of the disc brake rotor and reduces noises significantly. The 4-piston caliper also allows a wider contact area for the disc brake rotor while keeping the size compact, and the efficient location of pads is adjusted as necessary to stabilize the pressure.
Syncros Revelstoke 1.5 | 30mm – Designed for enduro and trail use, these rims are tough enough to handle all-day punishment without failing deep in the backcountry while staying lightweight enough to accelerate with the lunch ride crew.
Maxxis Dissector Front Tire – Designed in conjunction with Aussie DH racer Troy Brosnan, the Dissector seeks to minimize drag while retaining cornering control.
Maxxis Rekon Rear Tire – Wide knobs down the middle provide control under braking and L-shaped side knobs assure support when carving loose turns. With confidence like this you can race more and scout less with the Rekon.
