Santa Cruz's S-builds on their C carbon hit the balance of tech and burl, giving you high level spec without getting ridiculous. The Santa Cruz Bicycles 5010 C S Complete Mountain Bike takes that philosophy and imbues it into the ripping layout of a 27.5" funbike, ready for trails, jumps, and general shenanigans. There's enough squish from the redesigned lower-link driven layout of the VPP® suspension to straightline some chunder chutes, but not so much that you're riding on a waterbed. For pinpoint trail precision and jib jobs, the 5010 sits alone at the top of the pile - a magic wand for bike wizards.
Frame Update 4.0 – The 4th iteration of the 5010 features variable chainstay lengths for optimal balance across the full size range. It also features a slightly slacker head angle, a slightly higher bottom bracket to account for added travel, a slightly longer reach, and a lower standover height.
Carbon C Frame – A minimal weight gain of approximately 250 - 280 grams (0.6 lbs) for the C frame over the CC due to the different grade of carbon used. Whether you're riding a carbon CC or C frame, you get exactly the same legendary strength and stiffness because Santa Cruz uses exactly the same manufacturing facility and techniques.
Lower-Link Mounted VPP® Suspension – VPP is based on the patented principle of having two short links rotating in opposite directions. This system provides huge design flexibility, allowing Santa Cruz to manipulate shock rates to the intended purpose and character of each model; from short travel endurance bikes to World Championship winning DH machines. This redesign mounts the shock lower on the bike, making for an even better ride quality.
RockShox Super Deluxe Select+ Rear Shock – Super Deluxe Select+ is built for the latest breed of hard hitting enduro and trail bikes. Offering the ride control you need paired with a user-friendly threshold adjustment all rolled into a great high performance-to-value package. They even threw in Maxima Plush fluid to reduce friction and silence noise.
Shock Adjustments – Separate and Independent Open / Threshold Positions, Air Spring Pressure, External Rebound
Proportional Chainstay Lengths – With rear ends that match the size range, this bike's geo and ride quality is the same for all riders.
Bottle Cage Mount – Within the front triangle, fits piggyback shocks.
