Their 28mm internal width accepts today's trail tires easily, holding a bead very well. The simplicity and longevity offered with their magnetic pawl hubs is a huge selling point too: they got rid of the finicky little springs and went with neodymium magnets to ensure those pawls engage with the ratchet ring, definitely some addition by subtraction.
