The Spark R&D Surge ST Pro Splitboard Bindings take the powerful, big-mountain performance of the Surge and turn it up to eleven with premium, weight-saving materials. Featuring carbon-reinforced nylon highbacks and a full Pebax® construction, they’re lighter, stiffer, and more responsive for riders who push the limits on every ascent and descent. Built for long days, steep lines, and serious objectives, the Surge ST Pro is pure splitboard horsepower.
Improved ST (Smooth Touring) Mode – Spark injection molds a proprietary thermoplastic over existing aluminum or steel parts in a process called "overmolding," reducing friction and improving durabillity.
ST Touring Brackets – Incorporates the best features of aluminum and thermoplastics. Spark R&D overmolds their custom plastic blend over and through the holes in the aluminum base, forming bushings that are incredibly durable.
Snap Ramps – Bindings slide sideways into offset touring brackets and are locked into place with our snap ramps.
ST Whammy Bars – A single fatty wire with a side arm lever. Overmolded thermoplastic sections allow you to switch easily from stowed, to low (12°), to high (18°) climbing positions and back again while touring. Includes an overmolded sleeve of plastic on both sides of the bar, right where the climbing wire contacts the baseplate. This reduces friction allowing for super smooth movement into and out of high, low, and stowed positions.
ST Whammy Bar Climbing Wire – Built right into the baseplate. Overmolded plastic where the bar contacts the baseplate allows for super-smooth climbing wire deployment and transitions.
T1 Heel Rest – Catches the climbing wire in the 12° and 18° positions.
CNC Machined Baseplates – Solid for maximum stiffness and durability.
Surge Pebax Pillow Line Straps – Pebax is a premium material most often found in high-end ski boots as it provides consistent stiffness and improved toughness in cold temperatures. It’s also 20% lighter than our standard material.
Premium Materials & Custom Hardware – Custom made hardware allows splitboard specific features to be added like hex heads for less strippage and hollow pivot pins for weight savings. The heel loop screws got the best makeover of all with a custom screw head with double the drive depth and an unthreaded shoulder to improve connection to the heel loop.
7075 Aluminum Heel Loops – Thinner and lighter than the standard heel loop while maintaining the required strength.
Surge Carbon Reinforced Nylon Highbacks – More responsive, lighter, and stiffer than our standard glass reinforced highbacks. Injection molding allows for more complex geometry and improved impact strength compared to other methods of carbon fiber construction
Requires Pucks for Mounting in Ride Mode – Spark Canted Pucks or Regular Pucks recommended (available to purchase separately)
