While primarily a powder tool, the Faction Candide 4.0 Skis have what it takes to rip big terrain in any snow conditions and at any speed you like. With an 118 mm waist width and stiff balsa-flax core, these skis float through deep snow without effort. However, the addition of camber in their center and reinforced Titanal plate underfoot, allows these skis to rail on groomers as well. Regardless of what the weather chooses to do, the Faction Candide 4.0 helps you bring your "A" game to the mountain all winter long.
Rocker / Camber / Rocker – 600 mm of of rocker in the tip, 2 mm of camber located underfoot, and 590 mm in the tail.
Stiff Flex – 8/10 - Designed to provide bite and stability in steep terrain and variable snow.
Multi-Dimension Sidecut – Shorter radius underfoot with longer radii blended out to the tip and tail of the ski. Charges at high speeds whilst giving responsive, short turns when you need it.
Reduced Taper Sidecut
Hybrid Balsa/Flax Lightweight Core – A lightweight and well dampened core with a sandwich construction for edge hold.
Titanal Reinforcement Underfoot – Titanal plates secure the binding screws. The one peice design fits most touring bindings with center screws.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most of Faction's skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip, and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Micro-Cap Protection – Continuing efforts to improve chip-resistance in their skis, Faction incorporated a 'micro' cap where the topsheet meets the sidewall on sandwich constructed skis.
Die-Cut PTEX 3000 Base – Used on most Faction Skis. Sintered PTEX 3000 base material is more porous and holds wax well.
Matte Textured Topsheet – Matte ICP8210 topsheets require no lacquering saving around 100gm/pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
