The Blizzard Cochise Jr Skis fit the bill perfectly, with a Sandwich Compound Sidewall construction and Poplar-Beech core (just like the adult versions). The Cochise Jr also uses Blizzard's famous Flipcore build which orients the curvature of the core in the mold with the rocker profile matching that of the finished ski - this allows the materials and rocker to work to their full potential and help guarantee that your young skier gets the performance they need at any stage of their progression.

Rocker Camber Rocker – Ski profile with rocker at the tip and tail, camber in the middle. Reducing the pressure on the edge at the tip and tail makes the ski even easier to handle and increases flotation on powder snow. The camber guarantees great grip on packed snow.

Flip Core Technology – The famed Blizzard Flip Core process matches the core contour with the intended rocker profile so core and laminates act in harmony and don't require re-shaping in the mold.

Sandwich Compound Sidewall – All Blizzard skis with the exception of some junior skis are built with ABS or Phenol sidewalls for superior performance (stability, power transmission, handling) and durability.

The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
