Moment Ruby Skis 2011: The Moment Ruby Ski is Moment’s go-to gal when the powder’s deep and plentiful, but the runout is sketchy like Detroit after dark. At 111mm underfoot she has the girth to get you on top, with Moment’s handmade layup and aspen/pine core providing the gusto to keep you there. Countless test days led us to modify the flex and shape in all lengths to match the old 180: stiff enough to hold an edge in any condition, but not so burly that you can’t enjoy the trees. Lively, playful, and ready for anything, the Ruby is a lot like your first girlfriend…and just as fat.

UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) sidewalls are extremely light, durable and resistant to separation
4001 DuraSurf sintered base can take a beating while staying fast. They are harder and have better wax absorption than extruded bases. Moment uses sublimated graphics to eliminate the cracking and peeling common on die-cut bases
carbon fiber stringers provide more pop and snap and are extremely strong and lightweight
VDS dampening system
Triaxial fiberglass, woven in a 0°/45°/-45° fashion, provides maximum strength and resistance against twisting
Flex
Aspen and Pine core to provide a strong and lively flex. Aspen keeps the ski light and poppy while pine adds strength and rigidity
