Liberty Double Helix Skis 2011: The Liberty Double Helix is a powder and backcountry weapon that will still make arcs on the hard stuff. With elongated tips and tails and a mini rocker that Liberty calls Fat Head technology, the Double Helix will change how you view powder and mixed conditions anywhere is snows.

78 degree sidewalls: Creates increased edge grip with the UMHW damping from the 78 degree sidewalls. Best combination of edge grip and turning ease
HRC 44 has a slightly lower hardness rating with a wider profile and larger anchors to dissipate heat and increase impact resistance
Cab4 is a progressive and more centered stance
Construction
Durathane layer above the sidewalls is a polyurethane bumper to smooth out the ride and protect against chipping
FRP is used under the binding area to increase screw retention and add rigidity
ISO is a new extruded material that is the best sublimate available
PTEX sintered base is extremely durable

Liberty kept they’re signature bamboo laminate core to keep things light and powerful, wile adding quadaxial fiberglass and a Durathane layer for torsional rigidity and dampening at high speeds. Floatation and high speed performance are finally available with virtually no weight penalty. The Double Helix will keep you on your line, but won’t weigh you down on the hike back up.

The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
