Take your talents to the skin track with the K2 Talkback 96 Skis. Now you can talk the talk and walk the walk on a ski that rips as hard going downhill as it does on the climb. Narrow enough for the uphill climb, and wide enough to float through fresh powder turns that you worked so hard for. An incredibly light Paulowina core with maple stringers for binding retention ensures that your legs will be fresh and spry at the summit of any tour, ready for the descent. For a women's specific, versatile, playful and high-performance backcountry ski, choose the K2 Talkback 96 Skis.
All-Terrain Rocker – Designed for all ability levels, All-Terrain Rocker adds versatility and ease in all snow conditions. This profile features an elevated tip and tail for variable and soft snow performance, as well as camber underfoot for power, energy, and edgehold in firmer conditions.
Tapered Tip – A design feature that shifts the contact points with the snow toward the midsole of the ski, reducing deflection in the tip and easing turn release in the tail.
Forebody – Powder influence design with progressively more taper as waist width increases for control in unpredictable and soft snow.
Midbody – Medium to long radius sidecuts with waist widths from 88 mm to 96 mm.
Tail – Tapered, blunted tails to easily adjust turn shapes.
Paulownia and Maple
Carbon Web – Carbon weave laid at precise angles to retain a lightweight construction but add another level of torsional rigidity for higher performance.
Torsion Box Construction – Torsion Box construction is the foundation for the widest range of skis designed by K2. Depending on the dimensions of a ski, and the amount of flex and torsion designed into it, one model of a Torsion Box ski can differ greatly from another. The versatility in the construction enables K2 to build everything from entry-level through expert skis. While there will be significant differences between skis, they do share the common traits of ease, forgiveness, responsiveness, and energy that can be found in all Torsion Box skis.
Snophobic Top Sheet – Snow-repellent, hydrophobic top sheet to keep snow off the top sheet during uphill climbing.
Hybritech Sidewalls – Unique blend of sidewalls underfoot for accuracy, power and performance with a cap construction in the extremities for lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation.
Skin Grommets – Fully removable plug to accommodate K2's pre-cut skins with a Z-clip skin attachment and can be used with K2 shovels to build a rescue sled.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
