K2 Payback Skis - Women's 2011: Hell hath no fury like the K2 PayBack Skis. The K2 PayBack Skis confidently walk the rope line between resort and backcountry. Telemark or locked heel, the Bioflex core and two sheets of metal provide the precision and stability required to charge in-bounds, and the Triaxial braided Bioflex core keeps the weight down for day long tours. To complete the package, it now has an All-Terrain shovel rocker which broadens the sweet spot and increases the versatility for all turn shapes and snow conditions.

The K2 PayBack Skis have a progressive sidecut, which is a combination of two different radii or sidecuts that enhance the versatility of wider waisted skis. Standard sidecut theory is based on using a single radius. This works great on narrower skis, but becomes overpowering on wider skis, especially in variable conditions. The use of a progressive sidecut on wider waist skis guarantees improved turn initiation and hard snow performance

Women’s metal laminate skis are built with a thinner layer of Titanal. The thinner layer offers women an overall weight reduction while still providing expert level skiers the benefits of performance and dampening, consistent in metal laminate construction.

BioFlex is a unique combination of fir and spruce that is created in a process where a dense fir core underfoot is fused with lightweight spruce at the tip and tail to reduce swing weight. Rocker/Camber Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
