Product Info

K2 AMP Shockwave Skis 2011: The K2 AMP Shockwave offers a smooth blend of performance, forgiveness, and stability. This balance is achieved by combining a versatile 78mm waist width, moderate sidecut, and game changing All-Terrain Rocker that helps initiate turns on hard snow and keeps the ski from deflecting in variable snow. The K2 AMP Shockwave Ski will handle all conditions, especially excelling on groomers.

Product Details

Shape

All-Terrain Rocker is the most versatile Baseline available. Featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance and camber underfoot for power, energy and edgehold in firmer conditions

Construction

Triaxial braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around a wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. Developed in 1988 by K2 engineers, the patented Triaxial Braiding machine interlocks strands of fiberglass around a milled wood core. This unique method produces skis with great torsional strength, while maintaining the lively flex patterns of the wood core

Torsion Box Cap construction

Flex

Best use: Groomed: 60%, Ungroomed: 40%

K2 uses a variety of woods in their cores to achieve the energy, rebound and life you come to expect from a K2 ski. Fir and aspen, both solid and dense woods, are known for their inherent strength and durability

Mod Technology – Mod functions by absorbing vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge-hold and a higher degree of power and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, allowing the overall ski flex to be unaffected

Binding Compatibility

Requires a binding brake width between 80mm and 90mm
