In an attempt to hit every nail on the head, Faction crafted the Prodigy 4.0 Skis. This ski will find its stride in powder, but maintains a sense of stability in variable and choppy snow as well. 8 out of 10 on Faction's stiffness scale, this ski was designed as a big mountain weapon for guys who don't pull up short over 30 foot drops or hesitate when the slope angle exceeds 50 degrees. An excellent choice for a skier that knows their way around the mountain, and finds the most thrilling part of the day is when the chips are down and the cameras rolling.
Rocker / Camber / Rocker – 410mm rocker in the tip, 2mm camber underfoot, and 400mm in the tail.
Stiff Flex – 8/10 - Designed to provide bite and stability in steep terrain and variable snow.
Dual-Radius Sidecut – Borrowed from world cup race skis, two different radii on the one ski - a tighter radius forward of the boot center coupled with a 20% larger sidecut behind - lets Faction increase the edge-to-edge responsiveness so you can carve short turns whilst retaining high speed stability and control through the tail of the ski.
Transition Zone Technology – Faction's "Blended Transition Zones" use complex curve geometries where both positive/negative sidecut and where rocker/camber meet to make turn initiation fluid yet the whole ski more stable and controllable in all conditions.
Poplar/Ash Wood Core
Micro-Cap Protection – Continuing efforts to improve chip-resistance in their skis, Faction incorporated a 'micro' cap where the topsheet meets the sidewall on sandwich constructed skis.
Die-Cut PTEX 3000 Base – Used on most Faction Skis. Sintered PTEX 3000 base material is more porous and holds wax well.
Brushed Topsheet
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
