The outer fabric is rugged and water resistant, and the main pocket is designed with a roll-top closure, which adds an extra dimension of mechanical storm proofing. There's a tarp-lined wet / dry storage compartment in the bottom for essential items or soggy jackets, and the pack is finished off with an excellent carry system and a streamlined look.
