Product Info

A bigger bike that can be your one and only, the Scott Genius 940 Complete Mountain Bike is a wizard of dirt and a braniac of bombing. Trails, that is. It has 150mm of travel front and rear, controlled by Scott s clever TwinLoc remote system, giving you the ability to dial in your bike's geo and attitude, depending on your relationship with the terrain. That's smart. Genius, even.

Frame/Shock

Evo-Lap Carbon TechnologyThanks to this extensive computer modeling, Scott optimized the carbon layers in all the parts of the frame. When the parts were bonded together in the first prototypes, the result was a super light and compact frame without sacrificing the stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. This allows them to make the most efficient layup possible.

Fox Float Performance Rear ShockPerformance Series FLOAT shocks have fewer adjustments than Factory Series (no Open mode adjust tuning range), and have black anodized air sleeve and body instead of Genuine Kashima Coat.

Genius Trail GeometryCompared to the previous iteration, this one is slacker, has longer reach, shorter chainstays and a steeper seat angle. We really wanted geometry figures that would balance out the long front end for more stable descending. What they've ended up with is a bike that climbs like a bat out of hell and gets you down the mountain faster than you can say "dropping!"

SW DropoutsThese dropouts are designed to be integrated on the thru-axle system thanks to a hollow tubular design that allows a simple and lightweight structure. Available for SRAM and Shimano DM derailleurs, this dropout increases the stiffness and avoids damage to the frame in case of impacts on the rear derailleur.

Genius Carbon Main Frame with Alloy SL Swingarm

TwinLoc Suspension SystemWith TwinLoc, a rider can effectively control the complete frame, fork, and shock as a system. Why does this matter? A bike with 150mm of suspension travel, correctly set up, has more sag than a bike with 130mm. It's that extra travel that makes it more fun to ride and more capable on the descents, but the greater sag has an oversized effect on the bike's geometry and climbing performance. That's where TwinLoc matters. Via a handlebar remote, you can choose from three bikes in one!

Fork

Fox 36 Float Rhythm PerformanceWith a Float air spring and the proven GRIP damper, this is right on your rhythm. Stiff where it needs to be, with smooth action and an easy set-up, this is a trail fork that any rider will love.

Drive Train

SRAM Eagle 12-SpeedA solid mix of SRAM Eagle 12 speed components make up this drivetrain, giving you a combo of low weight, high gear range, and great performance.

Brakes

Shimano 4-PistonThe system adopts a power transfer system in which the disc brake rotor is pressed by the smaller sized piston at the entrance of the disc brake rotor intake and also by the more powerful larger sized piston at the back. This prevents the wobbling motion of the disc brake rotor and reduces noises significantly. The 4-piston caliper also allows a wider contact area for the disc brake rotor while keeping the size compact, and the efficient location of pads is adjusted as necessary to stabilize the pressure.

Syncros X-30S | 30mm | Tubeless Ready | 32H

Maxxis Rekon Rear TireWide knobs down the middle provide control under braking and L-shaped side knobs assure support when carving loose turns. With confidence like this you can race more and scout less with the Rekon.

Maxxis Dissector Front TireDesigned in conjunction with Aussie DH racer Troy Brosnan, the Dissector seeks to minimize drag while retaining cornering control.
