As cross-country bikes have adopted geometry and skill sets from trail and enduro bikes, the push for lightweight suspension has been fierce. The Fox Racing 34 Float Factory FIT4 Step-Cast Fork brings all-over tuneability to a 120mm fork, making it a featherweight version of a big enduro bruiser. Fox's Step-Cast construction means all these features won't weigh you down, should a race break out. There's a new breed of cross-country riders out there, and this is the fork they trust for pushing through more technical terrain.
New Lower Leg Arch – Stiffness-to-weight is the ultimate metric for bicycle design. Engineers invest countless hours poring over every ounce of material in an effort to optimize this critical ratio. Our all-new lower leg design pulls out all the stops, shaving every possible gram while making sure not to compromise stiffness or strength requirements of modern enduro and gravity style riding.
New Lower Leg Channels – As a fork compresses, the air volume within the lower legs decreases, increasing air pressure. The more the fork compresses, the more pressure increases. This effect can have the unintended consequence of preventing full travel from being achieved. Fox's lower leg channels help alleviate this issue by dramatically increasing air volume within the lower legs and thereby reducing the amount of additional unintended pressure ramping. Another benefit of these channels is that lower leg bath oil is circulated to the upper reaches of the lower legs, continuously lubricating the foam rings and bushings as the fork compresses and extends through its travel.
Kashima Coated Stanchions – The smoothest of the smooth, plus it looks cooler. The gold Kashima coating has become synonymous with friction-free suspension actuation, and it's only available on Fox Factory components.
1.5" Tapered Steerer
FLOAT EVOL Air Spring – EVOL technology increases negative air spring volume, optimizing small bump sensitivity. EVOL’s linear spring curve delivers plushness off the top, extra mid-stroke support, and more tunable bottom-out progression.
Rotor Size – 160 Direct Post Mount, Up to 203 Compatible
FIT4 3-Position Remote Damper – In its fourth generation, this patented closed cartridge system provides 3 on-the-fly compression damping positions--open, medium, and firm--to adapt to varying trail conditions. This Factory Series model also has 22 clicks of low-speed compression in Open mode, along with 10 clicks of low-speed rebound, all of this is on top of initial air spring pressure and volume spacer compatibility, making for a very tunable setup.
Pressure Bleeders – Lower leg bleeders allow for atmospheric pressure equalization at the simple press of a button. Pressure build-up in the lower legs dramatically decreases fork performance, preventing full travel from being achieved, and diminishing small bump sensitivity and responsiveness.
