K2 A.M.P. Impact Skis + Marker 11.0 TC Bindings 2012: New for 2012, the K2 A.M.P. Impact Skis are a versatile force to be reckoned with. Combining K2’s tried and true triaxially braided wood core with new Carbon Web, the Impact is on a collision course with bragging rights. If you had to give it one home it would be in the corduroy but don’t be afraid to take it off-piste. Intended for advanced skiers looking for the ultimate inbounds versatility, the K2 A.M.P. With versatile All-Terrain Rocker™, The K2 Impact Skis have everything you need.
All-Terrain Rocker™ is designed for all ability levels with added versatility and ease in all snow conditions, featuring an elevated tip for variable and soft snow performance with camber underfoot for power, energy, and edge-hold in firmer conditions.
Progressive Sidecut is a combination of two different radii that enhances the versatility of wider-waist skis. This guarantees improved turn initiation and hard-snow performance.
Mod Technology is a high-performance suspension system that absorbs vibrations and impact loads along the entire ski, providing stronger edge hold, power, and control. Mod is a secondary core that flexes and moves on top of the primary core, leaving the overall ski flex unaffected.
Mod Monic is a focused mass-dampener made of a solid zinc mass that focuses mass dampening at a targeted location on the Mod structure.
Hybritech Sidewalls are a unique blend of sidewall and cap constructions that combine the accuracy, power, and performance of sidewall underfoot with the lightweight characteristics and smooth turn initiation of cap construction.
The K2 A.M.P. Impact Skis come with the Marker MX 11.0 TC Bindings. This high end binding integrates with the MX Plate through Titanal hubs that are imbedded into the core of the ski for the most direct transmission of power. The system hubs are functionally wider with a 50mm footprint, which decreases the distance between the binding and the edge of the ski for added performance.
Bindings do not come mounted to the skis. Always have a certified technician mount and adjust the bindings.
Fir and Aspen core: solid and dense woods known for their inherent strength and durability.
Triaxial Braiding consists of braiding fiberglass around the wood core to provide torsional rigidity for added control. This makes the ski incredibly energetic and responsive, while maintaining a level of ease in all levels of skis.
Carbon Web is a weave of carbon strands that envelopes the Mod structure for an additional level of torsional rigidity, while still keeping the ski light.
