In a family of great all-mountain skis, the Elan Ripstick 86 Skis stands out as the model best suited for women who spend the vast majority of their time shredding prepared slopes but allows for fresh snow adventures on a sweet 4 to 6 inches of overnight feathery pow. Easy to coax into the turn but extremely precise, the Ripstick 86 is one of the best-balanced all-mountain skis out there and suitable for a wide range of abilities.
Tubelite Woodcore – To create the TubeLite Wood Core, two super lightweight Carbon tubes are inserted into a lightweight laminated wood core. Measuring 5mm in diameter and hollow in their construction, these tubes run along the length of the ski following the arc of the side cut. They provide torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability.
Fiberglass – A fiberglass reinforcement optimizes the flex pattern and enhances torsional rigidity of the ski. The fibers are positioned either above or below the ski core and improve the ski’s structural integrity.
VaporTip Inserts – Strong and dynamic Tubelite woodcores are paired with lightweight composite Vaportip inserts in the tip and tail of the ski to lighten swing weight and reduce vibration, dramatically improving the ski's ride qualities.
SST Sidewall – The SST Sidewall Construction provides quick, nimble and direct power transmission from the ski to snow as well as providing exceptional torsional rigidity.
TNT Technology – Elan’s unique TNT technology is a combination of innovations that provides the best balance of light weight construction with power and performance. The core of the TNT Technology is the Tubelite Wood Core with carbon rods along the edges of the ski, combined with Vapor Tip Inserts. The end result is an extremely lightweight high performance ski with exceptional power, cushioning and stability.

The Lange RX 80 LV Ski Boots are a perennial favorite that has received a total redesign for 2018. Lange's revamped the molding process by simultaneously injecting two different durometers of plastic (hard in the middle, soft on the outside) to create a shell that flexes smoother, wraps the foot more comfortably, and retains the requisite stiffness in the sole and lower shell for impeccable power transfer. Liners have been improved as well, with the new Dual 3D Sport version offering dramatically better heel hold and better comfort. If you're moving up from a rental boot program, or your current boots need replacing, it's time to check out the new Lange RX 80 LV. The "LV" version of this boot is designed for a narrow, lower volume foot.
Last: 97 mm – A narrow last for slim and low volume feet.
Bootfitter's Notes – The new Lange RX lasts are noticeably more relaxed in width and instep height than in years past - if you've had trouble fitting in a Lange performance boot before, you may find the new boots much more comfortable.
Flex: 80 – A softer flex for newer or lighter skiers.
Dual 3D Sport Liner – A liner pre-formed twice in 3D. The inside of the liner is pre-formed to support the foot while the outside is pre-formed to the shape of the boot to limit movement and thus ensure superior precision and power transfer.
Dual Core Technology – A new "Power Injection" method allows Lange to inject two different durometers of plastic simultaneously through 5 injection ports, with the two plastics being directed to specific parts of the boot. The harder plastic goes to the heel, spine and lower shell to retain stiffness, while the softer plastic goes to areas that wrap the foot and lower leg for comfort.
