AL 5052 (Strain Hardened / Anodized ), Powder Coated Blade – This type of aluminum is perfect for shovel blades because of its light yet rigid properties.
AL 6061 T6 (Hardened) Handle – The strongest aluminum available is used in Ortovox's high-end safety products for optimal balance between weight and rigidity. 6061 T6 aluminum is used in all Ortovox shovel handles and the blade of the Kodiak.
