Originally from Riverside, California, Desiree is an outspoken and influential pro snowboarder who has helped pave the way for women coming up in the sport today. She’s also an amazing artist who currently designs for Salomon.
Can you tell us a little about yourself?
I have been a maker since I understood what hands were designed for. Entrance into understanding the realms of creation that I wanted to exist in was slow. I constantly change depending upon the environment. Currently, I find interest in the experiences of gender, challenging societal norms, and deviating from what was/is intended/expected of our being.
How has this past year influenced your work?
This past year, I watched communication and art compound upon one another while the world shook and crumbled beneath our feet. The effects will show up eventually, until then, I will process and consider and wait for clarity.
