Mountain Biking in Bolivia

On this 7-day South America mountain bike trip we will explore the diverse landscapes Bolivia has to offer. The mountain bike trails in Bolivia are well worth a trip, with huge descents and epic scenery. From the high alpine of the Andes Mountains to the rain forests of Llabaya and Sorata, this trip has it all. We’ll start out riding 45 minutes outside of La Paz to the Camiraya Bike Park, Bolivia's first bike park. Once you get on these trails you will see why we start the trip here, with flowing singletrack and jump lines galore. From there we’ll ride the high-alpine mountain bike trails in the Andes. Typically we won't run into another person and the views are off the charts. With 7,000’ descents, you will work your way through four different ecosystems and past cultural sites along the way. We end this Bolivia mtb trip with a ride through Palca Canyon, home to some unique and bizarre rock formations in the shadow of the guardian mountain of La Paz, Illimani.

Trip Planning

Trip Planning

Most of the rides on this guided mountain bike trip package are shuttle accessed, with an emphasis on descending. Bike-wise, we strongly recommend a full suspension enduro-style mountain bike with good DH tires. We recommended both full face and open face helmets along with goggles, knee and elbow pads (required). Clothing-wise, we encourage guests to bring a full waterproof riding gear just in case. As we are so close to the mountains, weather changes abruptly and can go from sunshine to pouring rain and back to sunshine in a matter of short hours.

Therefore we highly encourage riders to bring their own bike that they are completely comfortable with.
Testimonials
My mountain biking trip with Yannick/Bolivia Bucket List was not only the best mountain biking trip I've ever been on, it was the best guided adventure period. Yannick went out of his way to accommodate our group and make sure we have an awesome experience, and we basically had the experience of a lifetime.

From altitude acclimatization to trail conditions, I felt like our guide was as aware us as we were of ourselves... If you're looking for a unique mountain bike experience with virtually endless singletrack and hardly another rider in sight, do yourself a favor and book a trip with these folks.
