Settlement on the once island (it was connected to the mainland in 1763) dates as far back as 1st and 2nd-century B.E. Take in history by exploring the Medieval walls lining the city’s narrow streets and small squares. Enjoy the laid back culture and a blend of Mediterranean food from fresh seafood to truffles and wild vegetables and don’t forget the wine!
