What if I need to cancel?
evo upholds Mint Tours’ terms and conditions for cancellation. Should you cancel your trip more than 60 days prior to departure, you will receive a full refund. Any cancellation made within 60 days before departure will incur a 100% cancellation fee of the total booking amount.

What COVID-19 safety measures should I expect?
Your health and safety is the highest priority for evoTrip, Mint Tours, and all of our partners. Your group size will be no larger than 6 guests and 1 guide. Masks need to be worn at all times when social distancing is not possible, including van rides. Expect enhanced cleanliness and disinfectant measures at your hotel in accordance with local, Colorado public health, and CDC guidelines. What is a Freeride Tour?
Our Freeride Tours offer you the best chance to ride a variety of terrain from parks through to steeps and trees. Our experienced guides have an in-depth knowledge of Steamboat which gives you the ultimate advantage when your chasing un-tracked snow or looking to challenge yourself. Of course weather and conditions are impossible to predict so guests must be prepared to ride anything.

What are the accommodations like?
Our lodging is the Steamboat Grand located at the base of the Steamboat Ski area, just 100 meters from the gondola, located in the main resort village. The hotel is a 4-star property with well-appointed rooms and classic amenities, including pool, spa, shopping, and plenty of dining options. Rooming is based on twin share in a room with 2 Queens, approx. 450 square feet. Rooms all have mountain views, full bath, and free Wi-Fi. Single share upgrades are available.

What happens once I sign up for the tour?
After you sign up for this tour, you will receive pre-trip emails with specific information about your tour, the arrival and departure day process, information about the destination, packing suggestions, and other relevant information to help you prepare for your trip. Mint will send out a Pre Departure Guide 30 days prior to departure. Prior to the tour commencing you’ll be invited to a group chat which is managed by your tour manager and guides. In addition to this, you have access to both evo and Mint’s customer care team who are just an email or phone call away. And as a full-service travel agent, Mint Tours is also able to take care of your flights, insurance, stopovers and pre or post tour arrangements, if you’d like.

How many guided days are there?
One of the advantages of travelling with Mint is that you have dedicated guides for your entire tour. Our guides are on-hand from the moment you arrive, until we say goodbye on departure day. They are not only with you all day on-snow, they are also on-hand each evening. They are always more than happy to share their experience with you on the mountain, and share a beer and some laughs at the end of the day.

Once you’ve signed up for the tour we will send you through a comprehensive guide with details about the tour including the arrival and departure day process, a map of where we meet, recommended arrival and departure times, flight options, and transportation information.

What if I'm travelling solo?
About 99% of our guests are travelling solo, so you’ll be in good company. If you are travelling solo, you will be paired with another guest to room with. The accommodation for this tour is twin share i.e. 2 beds per room. Your group will be made up mostly of solo travelers. Our groups generally mix well due to a shared interest in snow sports and an eagerness to explore all that Steamboat has to offer.

What if I want my own (single) room?
Single rooms are available on request, subject to availability. If available, the single supplement for this package is $325 for the December dates and $690 for February. Payment will be made directly to Mint Tours.

Are lift tickets included? What if I have an Ikon Pass?
This tour can be booked with or without lift tickets. Steamboat is an IKON ski area, if you have an IKON Pass you can use it at Steamboat or you can pre-purchase an Ikon Pass or Ikon Base Pass from us -- reach out if interested.

How many people are on this tour?
Each tour is different, but we know that by offering one of the smallest client to guide ratio in the industry allows you to ski or snowboard at your preferred pace, and ultimately leads to a better experience for everyone. We have a maximum of 6 people on this tour. This ensures you get the most out of your time with us, and keeping the groups small means less time waiting and more time riding powder.

Your group will be made up of travellers from diverse backgrounds and will be varied in age. Our groups generally mix well due to a shared interest in snow sports and an eagerness to explore all that Steamboat has to offer.

Is this tour right for me?
We recommend this trip for intermediate and above skiers and riders. More specifically, this tour is best suited to skiers and snowboarders who can link turns in powder snow, can make a variety of turn shapes and can traverse, hold speed and is adventurous when skiing and snowboarding the entire mountain including side-hits and jumps. If you’re not sure, give us a call. Weather and ski conditions are impossible to predict so guests must be prepared to ride or ski anything.

What resorts will we visit?
The tour is based at Steamboat. Don’t worry you won’t get bored skiing and riding over 165 named trails across 2,965 acres/1,200 hectares of terrain and glades.

Can I arrive early or stay on after the tour?
For most tours you can arrive earlier or stay later. We can tailor the trip to suit your travel plans. Reach out if you’re interested and we’ll be more than happy to assist you.

Who are the guides?
All of our tours are guided by friendly, knowledgeable and expertly trained guides who are passionate about the mountains. Most of our guides work for us season after season. If you have a preferred Mint guide, just let us know and we’ll be able to tell you which tours they are leading.

Do I need travel insurance?
Yes. All guests on tour need to be covered by comprehensive travel insurance. Once you have booked on the tour, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance. We offer all of our tour guests discounted snow specific travel insurance.

Do you offer rentals?
Rentals are not included in this package, feel free to visit evo Denver’s rental page.

How do I get there?
Fly into Denver (DEN), and from there you’ll be met with private transfers to and from Steamboat Springs. In winter it’s about a 4 hour drive (156 miles) from Denver. Please note before buying flights, a recommended pick-up / drop-off time will be set for arrival and departure transfer. We ask that you wait for us to advise these times before planning your flights.

What equipment should I bring?
Steamboat like any ski area can experience all kinds of weather depending on the season, with temperatures typically ranging from +10 to -10 in Spring. We recommend that guests have a good quality waterproof jacket and pants, lightweight insulated layer, merino base layers, merino gloves and waterproof gloves, goggles with low light & high light lenses, sunglasses, balaclava, beanie, and helmet. We recommend that all guests bring their own ski or snowboarding equipment for the tour (board, boots, bindings & outerwear), though rentals are available as well.
