Rippin Chix is a freeskiing camp for adults that encourages women to grow, push their limitations and build confidence on their skis. You’ll be surrounded by a nurturing, empowering and fun environment; learning from coaches that’ll show you just how powerful ski women can be.
Steeps Camps (Alpental, Alta and Whitewater): Two days in our women's ski camp with our expert coaching will give you a whole toolbox of skills and confidence so that you can ski lines you never thought possible. If you can link 10 consecutive turns on un-groomed terrain but perhaps you’re lacking the finesse, consistency or head space to feel really good about it, we will show you it is not always about making the perfect turn but having the right tools to navigate the entire mountain with ease. Many of the small step, steep terrain skill progressions will be practiced on groomers, then brought into un-groomed terrain and finally steeper terrain as we work together developing technique and self assurance.

Backcountry Basics Camp (Apex): As ski touring has been growing in popularity we wanted to offer the opportunity to not only hone your off-piste ski skills in the resort, but create a learning, judgment-free opportunity to ask all the basic backcountry skiing questions you have. The idea is to work out all the quirks and kinks of getting a new touring setup, what to pack, how to layer etc. so that when you are ready to head out of bounds you can do it with confidence!

Area Information

Alta, Whitewater, Apex and Alpental Ski Resorts

Alta: Alta Ski Area is nestled at the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon, in the Wasatch mountains in Utah, known around the globe for its powder skiing. With an annual snowfall average of 547” powder days are a way of life here. Only 32 miles from Salt Lake City airport, accessing Alta's beautiful scenery, diverse terrain and notorious powder skiing is quick and easy!

Whitewater: Whitewater Ski Resort is a beloved place to ski just outside the city of Nelson, British Columbia. Accessible with flights into Spokane, WA. The ski area is known for its powder, playful steeps, plentiful pillows, and evenly spaced trees with none of the pretentiousness found at other resorts. While we can’t guarantee deep snow, we do assure that the terrain at Whitewater is made for improving your powder skills and discovering how to make the whole mountain effortless and fun!

Apex: Apex Mountain is known for low humidity and lots of precipitation which is the perfect combination for that champagne powder ski vacation dreams are made of.  As the only resort in the Okanagan with North Easterly facing slopes, that champagne powder can remain unaffected for days. So once you've finished shredding every stash you could uncover in the resort... hello, slackcountry and backcountry skiing!

Alpental: Alpental is synonymous with skiing in the Pacific Northwest. Its deep-rooted history and legendary terrain make this mountain a bucket list item for skiers and riders. The area provides some of the steepest and deepest runs in the region. Accessible with flights into Seattle, WA, Snoqualmie Pass has big mountain terrain with a small mountain vibe. Featuring famous steeps, back bowls, terrain parks, a Nordic center and Tubing Park, the keyword here is variety when it comes to progressing your skiing. Although not guaranteed, with an average annual snowfall of 420” powder skiing is certainly not something to rule out!

  • Journeyman and Drop Below the Surface Information
Inspired by this stunning off-the-grid location and the surrounding nature, we’ll take what we experience on the mountain and infuse it into our everyday lives. Led by DBS founders and Rippin’ Chix alumni, skiers on this trip will have the chance to press pause, tap into your own curiosity, and embrace your inner badass in a whole new way! Have you ever found yourself standing at the top of the mountain you have worked so hard to climb (physically or metaphorically), your goal in sight but there is something - fear, nerves, anxiety, self-doubt, that little voice in your head saying "you can't do it", holding you back? You’re not alone – but it’s in those moments that we need to remind ourselves that it doesn't always matter the direction, how straight the path, how clear the vision or the pace at which we go, but that we keep taking steps forward. Join us at this camp as we partner alongside you to lean into our stretch zones and listen to the inner whispers nudging us towards the knowledge that we have everything we need within ourselves for the now and next. This Backcountry Ski Touring Retreat experience intends to integrate the power of pressing pause in nature and enlivening the 5 senses with thoughtful experiential questions/activities to help you embrace your inner badass - not just in the mountains but in all areas of your life.
