This adventure sets you on the Varg S/Y, drifting through the quiet fjords of Northern Norway toward remote peaks unreachable by road. Each day blends sailing with mountain biking or hiking, taking you to explore remote mountainsides.
This unique Bike & Sail adventure combines breathtaking biking routes with the freedom of exploring by sea. Over four days, you’ll ride through valleys, cross dramatic fjords, and pedal along remote island paths—all while living aboard the Norrøna Varg Sail Yacht, your floating basecamp. With seamless transitions between land and sea, this journey takes you to places few have the chance to experience.
To round out your adventure, you can add a stay at Canvas Telemark—Norrøna’s wilderness hideaway known for its unforgettable trails, wood-fired meals, and quiet luxury in the heart of nature.
Trips are designed for groups of 5–6 and run July through September, based on availability.

Arrival & Biking in Skjomsdalen
We will meet in Evenes at 4 pm and settle in to the boat. We then head to Skjomsdalen, where we begin our first ride. The trail winds through a picturesque valley, surrounded by towering peaks and serene rivers. After the ride, we board Norrøna Varg S/Y, set sail, and enjoy a well-earned dinner under the evening sky. -

Kjeldebotn
We sail to a secluded fjord and drop anchor in Kjeldebotn, a remote and wild biking paradise. The terrain offers a mix of technical and flowing trails, with spectacular views at every turn. After a full day of riding, we return to the boat to unwind, enjoy a sauna session, and share stories over dinner. -

Crossing Efjord & Verdensvaet
Our adventure today takes us across Efjord & Verdensvaet, where we drop in on one side and pick up on the other. This point-to-point ride offers some of the most breathtaking scenery of the trip. After an exhilarating day, we sail towards our next destination and enjoy another peaceful night at anchor. -

Island Biking on Barøya & Departure
For our final day, we explore Barøya, a small island with unique trails and a visit to the historic Barøy Lighthouse. This remote spot offers an incredible last ride, blending coastal landscapes with deep history. We then sail back to Evenes, where the adventure concludes around 12:00 noon. -

Varg S/Y
We stay on a comfortable boat with excellent facilities. Two of the cabins have comfortable double beds that can be arranged as a twin bed with a custom soft wall for privacy. One cabin has bunk bed. If you are traveling alone, you will get your own cabin. There is a private shower and toilet in each cabin.
We provide a hearty breakfast, prepare packed lunches for our excursions, and serve delicious 3-course dinners in the evening. Alcoholic beverages must be purchased on the boat due to the liquor license.
Fishing equipment is available on the boat if you wish to try your luck at fishing.
As all equipment is on board the boat at all times, it's advisable to limit your luggage to one bag for skis, one bag for clothes and gear, and one daypack for excursions. Please pack in a bag or backpack. Your daypack should have enough space for clothing, food, drinks, and avalanche safety equipment. The extent of mobile phone coverage will vary during the trip.

Is my trip guaranteed to run?
No, as each trip requires a minimum number of guests (4) in order to run, please wait to make travel arrangements and book flights until you have received confirmation from evoTrip or our operator that your departure has been confirmed. -
What skill/experience level is required for this trip?
To get the most out of this trip, participants benefit from being familiar with their ski touring equipment. Just as important as good skiing skills is the ability to handle long days in the mountain for three or four consecutive days. Make sure to go on some long days in the mountain before the trip. Avalanche safety equipment is mandatory for each participant. -
I'm ready to book. Do I need to pay in full or can I may deposit only?
To secure your spot, you can either pay the full amount now or contact Customer Care at 1.866.386.1590 if you prefer to only pay your $1000 USD per person deposit. Full payment is due 70 days prior to departure. -
Can I choose my roommate?
Yes. If you have a roommate request, please let us know. By default, we will place two people of the same gender in a room with two beds. -
What if I’m a solo traveler? Can I get my own room?
Single rooms may be available for an upgrade fee on a first come, first served basis. Normally, you will be paired with another solo traveler of the same gender in a room with two beds at no cost, however if you prefer your own room please speak with our operator after the trip is confirmed. -

What level do I need to be for this trip?
This trip is for intermediate and above skiers and splitboarders. Some segments of the journey may prove challenging. It's essential to possess a solid level of fitness prior to departure. Should I tip my guides?
Yes, guide gratuity is not included in your trip package and is recommended if you enjoyed your experience. -
What gear should I bring?
ski touring gear is not provided on the trip. You will need to bring your personal gear and equipment, such as skis/splitboard, bindings, boots, outerwear, gloves, helmet, goggles, backpack, beacon, shovel, probe, etc. -

Can my dietary restrictions be accommodated?
Yes, most dietary restrictions can be accommodated with advance notice. -
Do you require or recommend travel insurance for this trip?
Travel insurance or medical insurance that covers accidents that may occur abroad is required for this trip. We recommend World Nomads. -
What if I need to change or cancel my trip?
All cancellations must be received in writing to evoTrip and are assessed based on date received. Cancellations made more than 60 days from departure date will receive a refund minus the $700USD deposit payment. If you cancel between 59 and 30 days before the departure date, you lose 50% of the trip's total cost. If you cancel less than 30 days before the departure date, you lose 100% of the trip's total cost.
