Denali & Wrangell / St. Elias National Parks

Together, these iconic Alaskan National Parks total over 15 million acres of pristine, rugged wilderness in Alaska’s Interior. Denali National Park is a land of tundra, taiga (boreal forest), and snow-capped peaks, including North America’s highest mountain, Mount Denali (20,130 feet). Grizzly bear, moose, caribou, and wolves can often be seen from a bus seat, yet there are endless opportunities for hiking and exploration. Meanwhile, Wrangell/St. Elias NP resides in an area the size of Switzerland, making it the 2nd largest national park in the world (the 1st is in Greenland). The sheer size and scale of mountains and glaciers is unfathomable in this rugged jewel of a destination.
