Chuckanut Mountain
Mountain Bike Trail Guide

The Chuckanut mountain bike trails are scenically located right on the shores of the Puget Sound, and have some really fun downhill riding. Located in Larrabee State Park, these mountain bike trails can be accessed by pedaling, or by shuttling. They offer long and sustained downhill singletrack mountain biking, and the views from these trails down toward the water are unbeatable. Mountain biking in the Chuckanuts is primarily suited for more advanced riders looking for technical downhill riding, although there are also some beginner and intermediate trail options in the Chuckanuts, too. While some mountain bikers choose to ride downhill bikes here, all-mountain and trails bikes can handle the Chuckanuts just fine.

Double Black Diamond & Double Down
Advanced | 2.1 Miles | 1,829' Descent

Double Black Diamond and Double Down are some fun and technical downhill mountain bike trails. The trails are rough and rooty with some steep sections and a couple small rock faces. The trail is mostly natural with no built berms and jumps. Lots of the natural features can be jumped, however. After a small road segment, Double Down continues the technical downhill back down to Chuckanut Drive.

Ridge Trail
Advanced | 3 Miles | 1,698' Descent

The Ridge Trail is the crown jewel of the Chuckanut mountain bike trails, descending 1,700’ over 3 miles with stunning views to the water below. The trail is long with some rooty and technical sections, as well as some great flowy singletrack. There are definitely some hike-a-bike sections spread throughout The Ridge Trail, too. There are three main section, The Upper Ridge Trail, Lower RIdge Trail, and Lower Salal or Hush Hush Trail.

Typical Weather & Riding Conditions

Located at a low elevation the mountain bike trails at Chuckanut Mountain can be ridden all year long. After rainfall, the rocks, roots, and technical section will definitely be slippery, so ride with caution.
