Get back in the woods--immediately! The Weston Backwoods Splitboard is Weston's idea of the perfect splitboard. It's designed to flourish in every condition you're likely to find on your adventures, with a solid freeride shape, medium/stiff flex, and bomber construction. There's plenty of pow float built in to this lightweight board, with a rockered nose and a bit of taper along its length. Camber in between your feet help grip on hardpack and skin tracks, and all the little split-specific tech bits add up to a perfect splitboard. You can only ride one at a time, so you may as well get one as versatile as the Backwoods!
Directional Freeride Camber – Subtle rocker in the nose and tail provide additional float without losing stability. Camber underfoot provides confident edge hold and pop.
Flex Rating – 6 (1 Soft - 10 Stiff)
Directional Freeride with Slight Taper
91% Poplar / 9% Bamboo – Sustainably harvested, this blend keeps the board smooth and powerful.
Tip to Tail Carbon – Carbon fiber run through the entire core from tip to tail to provide added pop and response.
Tri-Axe Glass – Multi-axis, stitched fiberglass laminate that offers a precise and responsive ride in any terrain or snow conditions.
Polyurethane – Polyurethane is poured during construction to form a single, unified piece of sidewall wrapping around the entire core for increased strength and durability. Because of this process, it also creates less waste material than other sidewall options.
Boltless Base
Sintered Durasurf 4001 – The gold standard in bases. The 4000-series sintered bases have a higher density than other options on the market, and are therefore more durable. Additionally, it absorbs more wax, making for a faster and smoother ride. 4000-series PTEX is usually reserved for only top-of-the-line boards due to a higher manufacturing cost, but at Weston it’s the minimum standard.
Rugged Topsheet – Polymide is eco friendly and made from castor beans. The topsheet is durable and resistant to scratches and scuffs.
Karakoram UltraClips and Active Joining – Karakoram UltraClips and Tip-Locks use Active Joining to spring load the seam of your splitboard, eliminating the rattling shearing, and rolling inherent to passive slip-fit connections. Simply close the lever to lock in the most responsive ride.

Rooted Inserts – The odds of pulling out inserts on a snowboard are about zero, but just to make sure Weston have reinforced all of the inserts areas with precision-cut sheets of flax. This improved durability and naturally dampens chatter. Additionally, flax is a sustainable crop and is good for the environment.
Split Tech – Weston doesn't skimp on their splits. You'll see a full inner metal edge, complete with sidewall and dampening tape. Also, when facing a kick-turn on a steep slope, you want all the help you can get - that's why Weston balance's their splits so that they are tail heavy.

Spark Arc bindings have been improved in just about every way over the summer, and the Spark R&D Arc ST Pro Splitboard Bindings go even further in their quest for the lightest and most efficient splitboard connection possible. Spark started by initiating their "ST" (Smooth Touring) program on just about any connection with inherent friction, and using a fresh overmolding process proceeded to drastically improve both performance and durability. With the Pro Series bindings, they jumped at any opportunity to cut weight without sacrificing performance, adding carbon to the highbacks, hollowing out the pivot pins, and substituting alloy hardwear for stainless steel where possible. The Arc ST Pro is the softer flexing of the company's offerings, best for those who prefer a surfier, more forgiving ride.
Hollow Pivot Pins – Made with stainless steel and hollowed out to be 33% lighter than standard pins
Improved ST (Smooth Touring) Mode – Spark injection molds a proprietary thermoplastic over existing aluminum or steel parts in a process called "overmolding," reducing friction and improving durabillity.
ST Whammy Bars – Overmolded plastic blend where the climbing wire meets the baseplate to eliminate stickiness. (Note: not backward compatible with previous Arc, Surge or other older models)
ST Touring Brackets – Overmolded with low-friction proprietary plastic over and through the bracket holes in the aluminum base - strong, smoother pivoting, and lasts 4 times longer than the old brass bushing.
CNC Machined Baseplates – CNC machined baseplates remain solid for max stiffness and durability. All of the baseplate side windows have been partially filled to increase durability and strength
7075 Aluminum Heel Loops – 7075 Aluminum heel loops are thinner and lighter than our standard heel loops while maintaining the required strength.
Pebax® Pillow Line Straps, Ladders and Adjusters – Pebax® is a plastic commonly used in high-end alpine touring ski boots, It is stiff, tough and 20% lighter than the standard material used.
Proven Burton Buckles
Carbon Reinforced Asym Rip 'N' Flip Highbacks – Asymmetrical design features individual left and right highbacks that slope inward matching the rider’s stance / The upper section is flatter for improved lateral mobility / More material at the base for increased longevity and durability / Higher bottom edge won’t snag on boots with crampon welts or soles that wrap high on the heel
Flippin’ FLAD toggles between your forward lean angle and -13° touring position for easy transitions.
Lateral slots for our BD Touring Strap for greater edge control while skinning.
Tool free micro-adjustable from 0° to 22° for complete customization of your forward lean angle
Made with proprietary custom blended materials for improved strength and durability, while minimizing weight.
7075 Aluminum Hardware – A 65% weight savings is found by replacing 7 stainless steel components with 7075 aluminum hardware, custom made in-house
