They grip the snow with a stable edge and carvable turn, holding on for a great caper down the mountains. The Faction Dancer 2X glides down the groomers, bops through the bumps, and creams the crud giving you new found confidence and improving your abilities on the snow. The Faction Dancer 2X is an all-mountain, big mountain ski. This ski can perform under a variety of conditions on the slopes. It is built with a flat tail design for speed, giving it great edge grip and controlled turns. The rocker provides float, and the tapered tip moves the widest part of the ski closer to the center creating a smooth ride in all conditions. The construction of the ski is created from poplar, a durable softwood that flexes well, making this ski extremely stable at higher speeds without the chatter. Additionally, a dual span titanal makes this ski strong, giving it the ability to blast the bumps, charge the turns, and power through off-piste crud. The Faction Dancer 2X is the same ski as last year's Dictator 2.0X with a different topsheet. With a waist width of 96mm and a turning radius of 17m, this is a hard charging powerful ski on the mountain.

Ride Impressions

I took the Faction Dancer 2X on my ski trip to Utah this year. Driving into a blizzard from Twin Falls to Salt Lake City, I knew the snow was going to be delightful! I skied on the first day in Snowbird. They had received 6-8 inches of fresh Utah pow! I was excited to get on the mountain and ski, they did not disappoint! Heading out to the bowls in Mineral Basin, they handled the powder with easy fun turns. Run after run just controlled easy turns. As the bowls got skied out, I headed to the groomers for some fun on big wide runs. Making big arcing turns, they felt very stable with no chatter at higher speeds. The following day much had of the same weather at a different location, Deer Valley. More big wide open runs and taking in the spectacular views on Stein’s Way! I let the skis loose. Feeling very comfortable, I pushed the skis by getting off the main runs and into the trees. Again they handled superbly. Conditions were fresh snow with 6-8 inches and continuing to snow all day. I went off into untracked powder, keeping my momentum on these skis, and they again continued to flow in the powder. However, I feel that on anything deeper, these skis may not handle as well, because of their size. As the day progressed and the runs became skied out, the Faction Dancer 2X really did shine. They have a great ability to take on unpredictable snow conditions such as chopped up snow or just plain crud. This ski can rip through the toughest conditions. I cruised over to some bump runs and to my surprise they do perform well there too. They popped out of the bumps like a bunny hop and boogied down the mountain. Overall I would consider this ski fun and playful. They soared at Snowbird and roamed at Deer Valley! I will take these skis on my next adventure, wherever that may be.

Who Are They For?

You will love the Faction Dancer 2X if you want to go fast and in control, cruising down the groomers. They make you feel as if you can take on the mountain. This ski will have you becoming more powerful and improving your ability to twist and shout all over the mountain. Whether you are off-piste for some fresh turns or heading to the back bowls on a sunny spring day, they will provide. If you’re looking for an advanced all-mountain ski, this is it!

The Bottom Line

Overall I was so pleased with the Faction Dancer 2X. I found myself with a cheerful smile on my face due to the fun playful energy the ski brings to the slopes. It’s like having your own personal dance party! You can twirl and turn down the groomers, shake your booty down the bumps, and crush the corn snow. I like being pushed to improve my skiing abilities. Why ski down the mountain, when you can dance down the mountain, having the time of your life? You will be the dancing queen. Remember girls just want to have fun, and you have no troubles with these skis. No boys allowed! Well maybe if they can keep up!
