A carbon XC bike that's built for more than just racing, the Scott Spark 940 Complete Mountain Bike is a capable trail bike for rolling terrain and longer rides too. With 120mm / 130mm of rear / front travel that can be locked out in an instant, you can ensure that every last watt is transferred to the earth. Its lightweight carbon main frame is paired with an aluminum rear swingarm, striking the right balance of stiffness and durability.
Spark 3 Carbon Frame with Aluminum Alloy Swingarm
Evo-Lap Carbon Technology – Thanks to this extensive computer modeling, Scott optimized the carbon layers in all the parts of the frame. When the parts were bonded together in the first prototypes, the result was a super light and compact frame without sacrificing the stiffness, comfort or impact resistance. This allows them to make the most efficient layup possible.
TwinLoc Suspension System – With TwinLoc, a rider can effectively control the complete frame, fork, and shock as a system. Why does this matter? A bike with 150mm of suspension travel, correctly set up, has more sag than a bike with 130mm. It's that extra travel that makes it more fun to ride and more capable on the descents, but the greater sag has an oversized effect on the bike's geometry and climbing performance. That's where TwinLoc matters. Via a handlebar remote, you can choose from three bikes in one!
Fox Float Performance Rear Shock – Performance Series FLOAT shocks have fewer adjustments than Factory Series (no Open mode adjust tuning range), and have black anodized air sleeve and body instead of Genuine Kashima Coat.
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure / Open, Pedal, Lock Compression Modes / Rebound
Shock Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure, Lockout, Traction and Descend Modes (Linear to Progressive Custom Ramp Adjust in Descend Mode), Rebound Adjust
DT Swiss Thru Axle – Working together with DT Swiss, Scott completely revisited the shape of the thru-axle lever to make it more ergonomic and to perfectly fit their frames.
ICCR Cable Routing – Routing the cables internally omits bulky external hardware and looks cleaner. The cables can endure a longer lifetime as they are protected within the frame. The entry points are machined alloy removable inserts that come along with the frame and can be chosen according to the setup of the bike. Assembling an electronic group or a dropper post will not be a problem and the look will always be clean-cut.
SW Dropouts – These dropouts are designed to be integrated on the thru-axle system thanks to a hollow tubular design that allows a simple and lightweight structure. Available for SRAM and Shimano DM derailleurs, this dropout increases the stiffness and avoids damage to the frame in case of impacts on the rear derailleur.
RockShox Revelation RL3 – Revelation is all grown up and ready to explore wherever the trail may turn. Value packed, the Revelation features the updated DebonAir air spring paired with the Motion Control damper and 35mm Fast Black upper tubes.
Fork Adjustments – Air Spring Pressure | 3-Position Compression Settings via TwinLoc remote
SRAM Eagle 12-Speed – A solid mix of SRAM Eagle 12 speed components make up this drivetrain, giving you a combo of low weight, high gear range, and great performance.
Shimano Disc Brakes – Controllable stopping power, all in a lightweight 2-piston trail brake. These feature Shimano's famous reliability and ease of setup.
Shimano RT54 180mm Rotors
Maxxis Rekon Tires – The Rekon is an aggressive trail tire inspired by the Ikon for intermediate and technical terrain. Wide knobs down the middle provide control under braking and L-shaped side knobs assure support when carving loose turns. With confidence like this you can race more and scout less with the Rekon.
