The updated Jones Frontier 2.0 Splitboard is your ticket to effortless backcountry adventures, with a playful yet powerful feel that’s ready to go beyond the lift lines. Its tapered shape and friendly flex offer easy float in powder, while the short sidecut delivers quick, nimble turns when the terrain gets tight. Built for those who want to explore with confidence and charge with style, the Frontier 2.0 is your all-access pass to the wild.
Directional Camber/Rocker – A hybrid rocker/camber flex pattern defined by more tip rocker then tail rocker and camber between the bindings. The rockered tip floats the board’s nose and improves maneuverability while the camber underfoot provides edge hold and response. A slightly rockered tail maintains the power and stability of a traditional board but helps keep the tail catch-free initiating turns and landing switch.
Flex Rating – 2/5 | Friendly and Playful
Forever Flex – All Jones boards are broken in using specialized machinery that mimics extreme riding use to help stabilize the flex and rocker profile of a board for it's lifetime.
Medium 3D Contour Base – 3D Contour Base tuned for all-terrain featuring 4mm spoon bevel in the nose and 0 to 4mm spoon bevel in the tail. Spoon bevel starts just before contact point.
Directional Shape
Progressive Sidecut – At the far ends of the sidecut, the radius is incrementally increased as the edge reaches the contact point. Gradually increasing the sidecut radius towards the contact point delivers smoother turn initiation and exit as the edge tracks in and out of the snow with a less abrupt transition.
3D Flip Tip – 3D Flip Tip maximizes float in deep powder, enhances glide and turn initiation, while reducing tip catch in rough terrain.
FSC Control Split Core – Dual-density full premium wood core designed specifically for splitboards. 2:1 paulownia to poplar stringer ratio keeps core light yet ultra damp.
Biax Fiberglass – A dual-direction, dual-layer, stitched fiberglass laminate that provides a fun, forgiving and snappy ride.
Recycled ABS – ABS plastic is one of the necessary evils of snowboard production. Jones improves the sustainability of their snowboards by using only recycled plastic.
Sintered 8000 Base – New super durable material made from Ultra High Molecular Weight polyethylene and carbon.
Medium Traction Tech – Like a serrated knife slicing into the snow, Traction Tech improves your edge grip by adding multiple contact points along the running length of your board.
Premium Eco Topsheet – Durable and scratch resistant bio-plastic topsheet made from castor beans that’s engineered to provide exceptional abrasion and impact resistance while minimizing environmental impact.
Bio Resin – All Jones boards are now built with bio-based, renewable epoxy instead of petroleum based epoxy. The raw materials used to make Super Sap Bio-Resin are co-products or waste products of other plant-based industrial processes. Producing Super Sap requires 33% less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy.
Bolt-Less Bridge – The Bolt-Less Bridge eliminates split clip attachment hardware from the base of the board by re-profiling the wood core at the clips. The wood core under the clips is thicker providing better torsional stiffness and a more powerful connection at the split clips.
Factory Tuned – All Jones snowboards are factory de-tuned at the tip and tail so you can go right from the shop to the mountain.
Karakoram Ultra Clips 1.0 – Karakoram Ultra Clips 1.0 remain some of the strongest and lowest profile clips in the industry. They are adjustable so you can maintain even compression as your splitboard ages.
Karakoram Tip Clips – Karakoram Tip clips made with durable ABS that swing closed and stay tight.
Wend Natural Wax – Jones boards are ready to shred straight out of the shop and are factory waxed with WEND natural wax.

The Spark R&D Arc ST Splitboard Bindings are lightweight, surfy, and built for chasing dreamy lines through the trees and slashing deep powder. With strategic cutouts in the baseplate to keep things featherlight, they offer a playful feel without sacrificing performance. Perfect for riders who like their backcountry turns smooth, fast, and full of flow.
Improved ST (Smooth Touring) Mode – Spark injection molds a proprietary thermoplastic over existing aluminum or steel parts in a process called "overmolding," reducing friction and improving durabillity.
ST Whammy Bars – A single fatty wire with a side arm lever. Overmolded thermoplastic sections allow you to switch easily from stowed, to low (12°), to high (18°) climbing positions and back again while touring. Includes an overmolded sleeve of plastic on both sides of the bar, right where the climbing wire contacts the baseplate. This reduces friction allowing for super smooth movement into and out of high, low, and stowed positions.
Snap Ramps – Bindings slide sideways into offset touring brackets and are locked into place with our snap ramps.
T1 Heel Rest – Catches the climbing wire in the 12° and 18° positions.
ST Whammy Bar Climbing Wire – Built right into the baseplate. Overmolded plastic where the bar contacts the baseplate allows for super-smooth climbing wire deployment and transitions.
ST Touring Brackets – Incorporates the best features of aluminum and thermoplastics. Spark R&D overmolds their custom plastic blend over and through the holes in the aluminum base, forming bushings that are incredibly durable.
CNC Machined Baseplate – Maximum cutouts shave weight, yet maintain strength and performance. Cutouts conveniently allow for puck adjustment with bindings in place for precise stance placement.
Pillow Line Straps – Lightweight, durable, comfortable, waterproof, one-piece molded construction, and made 100% in-house. Arc ST ankle straps are smaller around the boot with a flex window for max agility while maintaining support.
Ladders & Straps – Produced with unique thermoplastics that maintain flex over a wide temperature range
Bomber Buckles – These incorporate Burton's time-tested bomber buckles.
Arc ST Asym Rip ‘N’ Flip Highbacks – These have a moderate amount of glass fiber fill for medium flex and a surfy feel. They feature individual left and right highbacks for natural ergonomics with a flattened top section giving riders great lateral mobility

Buying a splitboard is only one part of the backcountry equation; you also need a touring capable binding setup and, yes, climbing skins. The Jones Nomad Quick Tension Trim-To-Fit Splitboard Skins are state-of-the-art mohair mix skins made by Pomoca, featuring a quick tension tail clip that adjusts for variations in skin stretch to keep you on track to your destination.
70% Mohair / 30% Nylon – Jones Nomad and Nomad Pro climbing skins are both made with a blend of 70% natural mohair fiber and 30% synthetic nylon. The mohair offers unmatched glide and a supple skin feel while the nylon improves grip and water repellency.
Quick Tension Tail Clip – The Quick Tension Tail Clip is a lightweight tail clip system designed to fit all 2016 and newer Jones splitboards (except Youth). Jones splitboards have a notch cut into the tail of both skis that allows the Quick Tension Tail Clip to simply slide into the notch and secure the skin. The Quick Tension Clip features a durable rubber tail strap and compact metal clip.
Ever Dry – Jones skins are treated with Ever Dry anti-glopping treatment. The coating keeps the skins from absorbing moisture and prevents snow/ice build-up under the skin.
Grip Tech – Grip Tech skins are made with a special material that works well under dynamic tension and has a high resistance to twisting and abrasion.
Made in Switzerland – Jones skins are made in Switzerland by one of the most innovative and trusted skin manufacturers in the world - POMOCA. For the last 40 years, POMOCA has produced industry leading skins for high altitude ski mountaineering and randonee racing.
