Even if you're the kind who has an 8 ski quiver and insists on the perfect ski for the day's mission, you admit that the 100mm waist category is the sweet spot for a mix of touring - all seasons, all snow, day long or week long trips, etc. The Movement Alp Tracks 100 LTD Skis take the prize for lightest in the category, tipping the gram scale at a mere 1200 per ski in a 170 and they ski amazingly well for a ski so light. Movement relies on an uber-light Karuba wood core, "mini" sidewall construction, and careful hand-processing of the materials to keep the ski weight to a minimum, and you'll definitely be feeling their weight-conscious love on the way up the skintrack. The 100 LTD is the most versatile ski in the lineup, and suitable for everything from pow laps at the ski area before it opens to week long hut adventures.
Twin Rocker Profile – Camber underfoot with a sustained tip rocker and short tail rocker
FCS and PEFC Certified Karuba Core
5 Axes Carbon – Minimizes weight and improves performance in all types of snow. Carbon fiber running in multiple axes produces a more torsionally rigid structure for better edge control.
ASA Shock Absorber – Shock deadening laminate made of ABS plastic
Double Plate Reinforcement – A two layer system - one of fiberglass, one of Titanal - guarantees the security of the binding mount area.
Unidirectional Carbon – A layer of unidirectional carbon is used in addition to the 5 axes laminate to stiffen the ski longitudinally without making it hooky.
Micro Sidewall Construction – Cap at the tip and tail with a short ABS sidewall underfoot
P-Tex 5000 – Die-cut graphic elements, precision tuned using state-of-the-art Montana machinery
Touring Edge – Movement's thinnest and lightest edge
Handmade in Movement's Own Factory – Movement purchased the AST factory (formerly Tua) in Tunisia in 2005, and has made steady improvements in engineering and quality control since. This makes possible a level of quality control only achievable when quantities are limited and the factory is under the direct control of the product managers.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
