Elan Ripstick 88 Skis 2026

Frontside stalwarts the Elan Ripstick 88 Skis get some updates, starting with more sizes (the break is now 7cm rather than 8cm), a revised sidecut meant to enhance stability at speed, and extra Unidirectional Carbon and Flax Fiber in the layup. The new skis are indeed calmer and more composed at speed, but without sacrificing Elan's trademark effortless turn initiation. If you're seeking a frontside carving machine that doesn't exhaust your legs before noon, the new Ripstick 88 might just be the ticket.

Rocker Type

Amphibio ProfileThe Amphibio profile is a revolutionary ski design that integrates both rocker and camber profiles into dedicated left and right skis. Amphibio skis feature a cambered inside edge assuring precision, edge grip, and stability while a rockered outside edge provides forgiveness, turning ease and smooth transitions.

Core

Tubelite Wood CoreTo create the TubeLite Wood Core, two super lightweight Carbon tubes are inserted into a lightweight laminated wood core. Measuring 5mm in diameter and hollow in their construction, these tubes run along the length of the ski following the arc of the side cut. They provide torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability.

Laminates

Carbon Deck TechnologyA construction using Elan's TubeLite Woodcore, Carbon Rods, UD Carbon, and Flax Fiber in a carefully prescribed layup for a combination of power and versatility

FiberglassFiberglass reinforcement optimizes the flex pattern and enhances torsional rigidity of the ski. The fibers are positioned either above or below the ski core and improve the ski’s structural integrity.

Carbon RodsLightweight Carbon tubes inserted into the ski and run the length of the ski following the arc of the side cut. The carbon tubes provide torsional stability and powerful rebound while allowing for material reduction of the core. The result is incredible lightweight response and stability.

UD CarbonUnidirectional Carbon Fiber adds strength and life with minimal weight

Flax FiberFlax dampens vibration without adding extra weight

Sidewalls

SST (Slanted Sidewall Technology) Sidewall ConstructionThe SST Sidewall Construction provides quick, nimble and direct power transmission from the ski to snow as well as providing exceptional torsional rigidity.

Base

Sintered UHMW Base

Additional Features
