The 10 Best Ski & Snowboard Goggles of 2022-2023

By: Megan Amick: Accessories Buyer | October 14, 2022

Every skier or snowboarder has experienced it at one time or another. It’s the best day of the season, the snow is beautiful and fluffy and piled high. You drop into the first run, and your goggles fog up immediately. Or maybe your lenses just aren't offering any contrast in the flat light. Whatever the reason, you’re blinded and frustrated, and your awesome day quickly crumbles into frustration. A good pair of ski goggles is an invaluable resource on the mountain. And in addition to keeping you happy and safe, and seeing where you’re going while you ride, the best ski and snowboard goggles can do so much more. With highly advanced lens technologies, refined frame shapes, and time-saving lens-changing systems, the goggles we’ve chosen for your best-of list this year will reduce stress, increase stoke, and keep you looking and feeling good while you ride.

New This Year:

One thing we’re particularly excited about this year is an expanded range of lens options from one of our favorite brands. Oakley is offering their signature PRIZM lens tech in an expanded range of tints, making it that much easier to find the exact right lens for the lighting conditions while shopping for ski goggles.

Hey everyone, I’m Brenda from evo. I’m here to share our picks for the best ski and snowboard goggles of 2023. Good visibility and awareness are key to everyone’s safety on the mountain. Luckily, goggle technology is consistently improving with wider fields of view and sharper optics. We chose a mix of both small and large framed goggles, so there is a goggle for everyone. Here are our top ski and snowboard goggles for 2023. First up are the Smith 4D Mag S Goggles. The regular 4D Mags can be too big for some riders, so these were designed for riders with smaller faces. The 4D Mags build on Smith’s popular I/O line to offer an even wider field of view, which lets you see more of your line in front of you. Chromapop lenses enhance clarity and color by filtering out wavelengths that cause visual confusion. These lenses are also one of the most fog-resistant, thanks to an anti-fog inner lens and Smith’s AirEvac ventilation that works seamlessly with Smith helmets. Finally, they feature magnetic lenses for easy changing. If you haven’t used a magnetic lens goggle yet, the 4D Mags offer the perfect blend of ease and security. Next up are the Anon M4S Toric Goggles. The original M4 goggles have a larger fit, so these bring more versatility to their lineup. These goggles make the list for their wide field of view and magnetic lenses. The M4S has a slim profile and curved Toric lenses that feature 14 magnets that snap the lens in place and create a seamless seal that’s quick and easy to change. It’s so simple you can even change them with the goggles on your face. The full perimeter venting system is one of the best in the business with a whopping 16 vents to generate airflow from all sides. This means that you’re less likely to experience fogging, even when you’re working up a sweat. Here we have the Giro Contour RS Goggles. The Giro Contours were the talk of the industry when they were released in 2020 for their sharp optics and immersive field of view. The RS stands for “reduced size,” but like other goggles featured so far, they also come in a standard size. The Zeiss Toric lenses are curved for increased side-to-side vision. Zeiss VIVID lenses — which are available on select colorways — offer color enhancement to combat flat lighting and increase depth perception. Changing the lenses is a breeze thanks to the magnetic lenses with four snap pins to keep the lens in place. Another great option are the Zeal Hangfire Goggles. The Hangfires are Zeal’s first spherical goggle with their Observation Deck Technology. This combines the ultra wide field of view of spherical lenses with vertical tilt so you can see more of the line in front of you. The Hangfire’s sleek, rimless design further extends your peripheral vision and the frame features upper and lower venting. It also utilizes Everclear anti-fog treatment and a Permashield hardcoat to keep your vision sharp and clear. Next on the list are the Julbo Cyclon goggles. The Cyclons feature cylindrical lenses, which means they are flatter, and more affordable than spherical- or toric-style lenses. The thin frame creates an unobstructed field of view but still has room for vents, so you can maintain clarity even when you’re working hard. The Cyclon’s photochromic lenses change their tint with the lighting, so you’ll never have to fuss with juggling lenses. Last up are the Oakley Flight Deck L Goggles, a longstanding favorite. These goggles are bigger than most of our other picks, and have a rimless design that maximizes your view in every direction. The lenses are sharp and clear, and the Prizm technology works to filter color wavelengths and enhance contrast. The Flight Deck’s frame is sturdy and supportive, despite the rimless design. That’s it for now! If you still need help, our experts love talking about gear. Visit us online, in-store, or give us a call, we’re happy to help! Megan Amick

Hi! My name is Megan. I was born and raised in Washington and grew up loving skiing and the outdoors. Some of my favorite memories are ski trips to Park City with my parents, Mt. Bachelor with the grandparents, and weekend rides at our home mountain the good ‘ol Ski Acres - IYKYK. I left Washington to go to college in California, and then moved to Nevada for a few years. I moved back to Washington in 2013 and jumped right back into weekend rides at my home mountain. Washington is and always will be the place I call home!

I have been working at evo since 2016 and am so grateful for all the opportunities. I started working in our warehouse in receiving and shipping and then worked my way to the merchandising department which gave me the opportunity to integrate my passions as our Accessories and Camp Buyer. It truly is a beautiful thing to work for a company that you are passionate about and that feels like family. You will still find me every weekend at my home mountain with my husband Beau and our daughter Baker.
