StepChild Scotty Whittlake Pro Model Snowboard 2011: The dirtiest of the dirts and an icon in snowboarding known to all –Scotty Whittlake joins StepChild this year with his guest pro model. The board has a directional twin shape with a tip to tail poplar wood core. The die cut base is finished with speedy structurn. If you don’t know who Scotty is then you don’t deserve to ride this board.
StepChild Flexometer: Medium
The sidecut, flex pattern, and stance are all twin. The difference with a DTWin (directional twin) is that the nose is slightly longer from the contact point forward. This little bit of extra nose (approx 10mm) helps to keep the board above the snow in powder and new snow conditions. In slush or hard pack snow conditions this board rides exactly like a twin.
As with all StepChild boards, this comes with the Armadillo Plate, a diamond shaped fiberglass reinforcement layer that is placed over the inserts. It also has the Kicker 1 Core with Biax glass and 12 inserts per foot.
The non stick UV lacquer finish keeps the sheets looking good and riding smooth while the smooth “soft belt” finish (pre waxed) polishes off the job. The Structurn base finish is a die cut to give you increased speed.
