Forged from a long line of competition freeride skis, the Moment Belafonte Skis are designed to be a daily-driver for traditional big-mountain experts. Tip rocker eases turn initiation and corrals tip wander while traditional mounting, a flat tail and a burly aspen/ash core reward charging skiers with unshakable confidence in chop and crud. New for 2014, the Belafonte features Moment's Mullet Rocker to increase hardpack edge grip without affecting handling in variable conditions.

Rocker Type
Mullet Rocker – Business in the front and party in the back. In other words, rocker in the tip, camber underfoot, and micro-camber sections in front of your toes and behind your heels. Easy turn initiation, stability and maneuverability variable snow, with powerful edge hold and turn exit on hardpack.
Flex
Flex Rating 9 (1 Softest - 10 Stiffest) – A stiff flex for charging hard and fast through variable snow conditions
Core
Aspen – Light in weight, durable in flex life, and poppy in nature
Ash – This wood is known for its high strength-to-weight ratio. It provides outstanding stiffness without feeling excessively damp, and provides excellent binding retention under high stress.
Laminates
Carbon Fiber – Moment uses carbon fiber in all of its skis, either in the form of woven uni-directional stringers or carbon tow threads added to the laminate matrix. Lighter than fiberglass, metal, or basalt, carbon helps tune and strengthen the ski while adding longevity to the flex profile.
Fiberglass Matrix – In addition to carbon fiber, Moment uses three types of fiberglass laminates to fine-tune each ski's flex pattern. Triaxial glass adds twisting strength and longitudinal stiffness. Biaxial weaves add torsional stiffness. Unidirectional glass helps absorb vibration and stiffen the ski from tip to tail.

Sidewalls
Vertical UHMW Polyethylene – An extruded Ultra-High Molecular Weight Polyethylene - It is extremely light, durable, and resistant to separation.
Base
1.2 mm Durasurf 4001 Sintered – This U.S.-made base material takes a beating while staying fast. It is harder and has better wax-absorbtion properties than extruded bases, making it the industry standard for performance and longevity.
Edges
2.2 mm Rockwell 48 C Hardened Steel – Heat-treated both at the source and in-house at Moment, these edges are extremely hard and ductile, ensuring you get the most life out of your skis.

All-Mountain All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm. Big Mountain Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail. Powder These skis are for the deep days. If you like to find powder stashes at your local resort, go on backcountry missions for the freshest of fresh or heli ski trips to BC, powder skis are what you need to stay afloat. Skis in the powder category are wide and most often have some form of rocker or early rise plus a relatively soft flex. Many powder skis today are versatile enough to handle mixed conditions and harder snow.

Rocker/Camber Rocker/Camber skis pair a traditional cambered profile underfoot with an elongated, early rise tip borrowed from fully rockered skis. This profile places the front contact point further back from the tip, while the rear contact point remains close to the tail. The rockered tip allows for better flotation and less edge catch for increased float in deep snow, while the cambered rear stores and transmits energy similarly to a fully cambered ski.
