Kids these days -- they've grown up in terrain parks, and your average preteen has a deeper bag of tricks than you ever had even at your peak. Your grom needs a ski that can handle the demands of high level park progression, and no option out there offers more bang for your buck than the Faction Candide 1.0 Jr. Skis. Featuring a low-profile rocker in the tip and tail for catch-free takeoffs, a nimble 79mm waist, and an ultra-fast base, the 1.0 is a shrunken down high performance park ski. Watch your little shredder take over the park, one switch up at a time on the Candide 1.0 Jr.
L Tip Rocker – 10 mm of Rocker over 200 mm of length.
Flat Camber – Ultimate edge-response off-piste.
L Tail Rocker – 10 mm of Rocker over 200 mm of length.
Medium-Stiff Flex – Stable, solid ride at speed. Less forgiving than a softer ski.
Short Turning Radius – Quick and nimble edge-to-edge.
Freestyle Twin – Symmetrical construction for incomparable forward and switch riding and landings.
Poplar / Ash Core – Faction's standard core material. Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.
Fibreglass – Laminates like fibreglass are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Matte EC4060 Topsheet – Matte EC4060 topsheets require no lacquering, saving around 100gm / pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Die-Cut Ptex 4000 – Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better than PTEX 2000.
1.8 mm Edges – Used on 99% of Faction skis, the 1.8 mm hardened steel edges are strong and dependable.
Silkscreen Printing – Used on 90% of Faction skis, silkscreen printing provides bright, strong colours that help our skis pop in-store and on-snow. Unlike the sublimation process used by many competitors, very little waste is created using this method, and water-based inks are used to reduce environmental impacts.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
