The Faction Candide 1.0 Skis are back, burlier and better than ever. With the likes of Tim McChesney, Tom Granier, Will Berman and of course the man himself slaying everything from park to urban on these bad boys, you know they need to live up to the test. New for 14/15, Faction has incorporated a Carbon reinforcement laminate for added protection from urban and park destruction. Super thick 2.5 mm edges also compliment the Candide 1.0, so you'll be sliding rails for as long as you darn well please. The Candide 1.0's softer jib flex and fully symmetrical shape round out these slay blades, for a winter of shenanigans you won't soon forget. Yezir!
Tip & Tail Rocker – Tip & Tail Rocker with varying amounts of camber underfoot gives maximum versatility and float off-piste.
M Tip Rocker – 5 mm of Rocker over 150 mm of length.
S Tail Rocker – 5 mm of Rocker over a 100 mm length.
5 mm Camber – Maximum rebound and quick turn initiation.
Medium-Soft Flex – Jibs and rollers beware. Butters are incoming.
Full Length Sidecut – Classic, smooth sidecut for full contact when edging in all conditions.
Freestyle Twin – Symmetrical construction for incomparable forward and switch riding and landings.
Poplar / Ash Core – Faction's standard core material. Poplar is a medium-weight, damp, vibration-absorbing softwood. Ash is a heavier hardwood that compliments the Poplar by increasing stiffness, responsiveness and providing a solid base for the binding screws.
Matte EC4060 Topsheet – Matte EC4060 topsheets require no lacquering, saving around 100gm / pair, and reduces the use of not-quite-environmentally friendly lacquer. It also shows through the natural structure of the underlying laminate layers.
Fibreglass – Laminates like fibreglass are used to compliment the properties of the core material by increasing torsional strength, edge-grip and rebound.
Carbon Reinforcing – Used to provide additional strength to the core against use on rails.
Sandwich Construction – Used on most Faction skis. A traditional manufacturing method that provides strength, durability, good grip and edge hold. Rubber is used to dampen vibration and bond the base layers to the core.
Die-Cut Ptex 4000 – Sintered PTEX 4000 base material is more porous and holds wax better than PTEX 2000.
2.5 mm Edges – These edges are stronger than the 1.8 mm edges, but are slightly heavier.
Silkscreen Printing – Used on 90% of Faction skis, silkscreen printing provides bright, strong colours that help our skis pop in-store and on-snow. Unlike the sublimation process used by many competitors, very little waste is created using this method, and water-based inks are used to reduce environmental impacts.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
