Even though they are nominally part of the Backland Series, the Atomic Backland 117 Skis are in fact stout big mountain ripping machines favored by the likes of Sage and Co. If a big mountain line has any pockets of fresh left on it, this is the ski they reach for. Wide enough for even the deepest days, with uncanny edge grip on harder snow and HRZN tech tips+tails when the urge to surf it hits, this is the ski you want when it's steep and deep.

Light Woodcore – Made from poplar wood, this core optimizes the ski's weight without sacrificing any shock absorption or stability.
Laminates
Carbon Backbone – An ultra-lightweight carbon insert that runs the length of the ski like a stabilizing backbone. This provides exceptional agility and edge hold with no extra weight.
Atomic Topsheets – Atomic top sheets are lightweight and highly resistant – with different structures and finishes to suit different terrains.
Sidewalls
Cap Sidewall – Full sidewall under the binding, from base to topsheet, for controlled power transmission and great edge grip.
Base
Atomic Base – High-density sintered bases that are fast in a variety of snow conditions and accept wax readily.
Edges
Atomic Edges – Atomic edges are made from steel five times more wear resistant than standard steel, for strength and perfect grip.
Binding Compatibility

Rocker/Camber/Rocker Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski. The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.
