Armada TSTw Skis - Women's 2012: You’re an all-mountain ripper and you need a forgiving and responsive ski that will allow you to shred with style and grace. The Armada TSTw Skis have patented EST All-Mountain Rocker with tip rocker and camber through the tail providing unequaled edge hold, core protection, and stability. A portion of the proceeds of the TSTw Skis are donated to Travis Steeger’s Memorial Fund and “Avalanche Awareness Beyond the Boundaries Society.”
Armada’s patented EST All-Mountain Rocker boasts a progressive tip rocker for flotation in soft snow with positive camber underfoot and in the tail for more stability at high speeds and edge hold on hard pack.
This is a 4-dimension ski where the widest point at the tip is set back closer to the bindings for a tip that easily rises and is hook-free in powder, while the rest of the ski performs well on all snow conditions with traditional sidecut.
With an AR50 side wall, the ABS sidewall meets Cap construction, combining lightweight Cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.
The TSTw has a 1.7 edge, with the height and width deliberately smaller and the steel heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight.
The 50/50 base is faster than Armada’s S7 base but more rugged than the Comp series.
The Laminate Matrix consists of three kinds of fiberglass laminates used in combination to deliver the exact amount of flex and torsional rigidity needed in the appropriate places.
A blend of Carbon/Kevlar stringers run along the tail of the ski to stabilize it, creating a better landing platform, increased snap and added pop to ollies.
The Hybrid UltraLight core is made up of select 375kg/m3 wood stringers that have unusually high strength-to-weight ratios so the TSTw maintains a light but stable feel. ABS layers are pre-installed alongside the core directly underfoot to concentrate the weight of the ski below the boot sole to increase durability and lower swing weight.
Flex Pattern: tip - 5.5, waist - 6.5, tail - 6 (out of 10)
11.5m @ 156cm 116/129/99/120, 12.6m @ 165cm 117/130/100/121, 14.7m @ 174cm 118/131/101/122
We recommend a brake that is equal to the waist width and at most 20mm wider. (brake width = ski width + 20mm)
