The Armada Tracer 118 Skis were designed with big boy terrain in mind. So if you're the type of lad whose idea of fun is getting to those steep and deep lines with nothing but your own two legs, then these are the planks for you. Weight is kept to a minimum due to a Hybrid Caruba Core, while a Taper Tops profile keeps things lively while retaining rigidity and stiffness, unlocking control and drive when you need it most. Buck up and head out on the Armada Tracer 118 Skis, that couloir ain't going to ski itself.
EST Freeride Rocker – Forebody rocker and extra tip-taper combine to create EST for optimized float in the soft stuff. Positive camber underfoot ensures these skis stay on rails when carving is the priority.
Flex Pattern (1 Soft - 10 Stiff) – Tip: 7 | Waist: 7.5 | Tail: 8
Taper Tops – 3D milling of Armada's woodcores reduces weight around the perimeter to make these skis more maneuverable and livelier edge to edge. A thick profile down the center of the ski retains torsional rigidity and flexural stiffness for powering through turns or untracked stashes. Ski longer, harder thanks to Taper Top technology
Hybrid Caruba Core – A combination of lightweight woods and full-length hardwood stringers, the Hybrid Caruba core creates the ultimate in weight savings, agility and maneuverability without sacrificing security or dampness.
Adaptive Mesh – A variable angle weave optimizes vibration damping along the length of the ski to make the ski more damp, stable and tough without adding weight. In the ends of the ski, the weave runs nearly tip-to-tail, filtering chatter and tip bounce. Underfoot, the weave runs nearly side-to-side, filtering vibration introduced through the edges either by ice, bumps and crud. Without additional weight, Adaptive mesh provides a smoother ride.
Titanal Binding Reinforcement – Rubber and Titanal are sandwiched together to dampen vibrations.
AR75 Sidewalls – Sidewalls provide improved edge pressure under the boot, while cap constuction in the tip and tail provides smooth turn initiation and less hookiness - 75% sidewall, 25% cap.
Comp Series Base – Sintered UHMW polyethylene with added carbon aids in speed and durability
1.7mm Impact Edge – Heat treated, built to avoid excess weight while maintaining durability.
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
