Like the name suggests, Bubba is Armada's bigger-than-life powder ski. Fat and lovable, Bubba's immense 132 mm waist (188) is made for powder-up-to-your-ears days typically found on cat and heli trips (if you're lucky). This big boy is ready to ride and wants to go on a road trip to Alaska or British Columbia . . . Mayan calendar graphic reminds you to book that heli trip before the end of the world. The Armada Bubba Skis will have you going like there is no tomorrow.
EST Powder Rocker – Armada's most powder-specific profile. Fully rockered at the tip and tail, with 2 mm of camber underfoot, it maximizes float in soft conditions for unprecedented control, while the small amount of positive camber engages the two widest points of the ski just enough to allow maneuverability on the hard pack.
Flex Pattern - Tip: 5.5, Waist: 7.5, Tail: 6.5 (1=soft; 10=stiff)
Tapered Tip and Tail – 5 dimension ski with the tip and tail narrower than the contact points
Dimensions (tip/contact point/waist/contact point/tail) – 125/140/122/129/119 mm (168), 130/145/127/134/124 (178), 135/150/132/139/129 (188)
Hybrid Ultralight Core – Ultralight core using select wood stringers that have unusually high strength-to-weight ratios, UltraLight cores allow our widest skis to maintain a light-yet-stable feel.
Laminate Matrix – Deliberate directional layering of fiberglass dictates flex pattern and torsional rigidity and allows each ski's flex to be precisely tuned. Bi-axial fiberglass runs in an “x” pattern down the ski to control lateral flex; Uni-directional fiberglass controls flex along the length of the ski; Tri-axial fiberglass, with fibers running in three directions, beefs up the center of the ski.
CK Stringer – Carbon Kevlar combo stringers lie on top of the laminate matrix along the tail to brace the ski. This increases the landing platform, especially when weight is distributed farther back in the ski than intended. It also gives the ski more pop and extends ski life.
AR50 Sidewall Construction – ABS sidewall meets cap construction – the best of both worlds. This engineering method combines the lightweight cap construction in the tip and tail with ABS sidewall underfoot, resulting in enhanced edgehold and significantly lower swing and overall weight.
50/50 Base – A blend of speed and durability, this base is faster than Armada’s S7 base but more rugged than the Comp series.
1.7 Impact Edge – The edge height and width is deliberately smaller and the steel is heat-treated to a proprietary hardness to increase durability and decrease weight.
Bindings not included
We recommend a brake width equal to or at most 15 mm wider than the ski waist width.
