Arc'teryx calls the Arc'teryx Alpha AR Jacket a versatile hardshell that performs "across a range of alpine conditions," and they hit the nail on the head. A longtime favorite of mountaineers who don't confine themselves to any single season, the Alpha AR excels as both a climbing and riding jacket in the most trying of conditions. To maintain durability but preserve lightness, Arc'teryx uses a mix of 80 and 40 denier GORE-TEX Pro fabrics, and as usual with Arc'teryx, every detail is dialed to perfection.
