Much like the wool blend fabrics found in base or mid layers, lavalan® capitalizes on wool's awesome thermo-regulation, moisture management and odor-resistance benefits, all while allowing Black Diamond to map it to specific sections of the jacket that will benefit most. This makes the Black Diamond Boundary Mapped Insulated Jacket a one-of-a-kind backcountry jacket that will react intelligently to increased activity levels, all while keeping you warm and protected from the nastiest weather.

Mapped lavalan® Wool Insulation | 60 g/m² 80% Wool / 20% PLA – lavalan® is completely made from natural raw materials, European virgin wool and biobased synthetic fibres (PLA). Wool is able to absorb and release humidity up to 36% of its dry weight which makes lavalan® the appropriate insulation for any kind of outdoor activity. It's very breathable, quick drying and always provides the right level of insulation without overheating. Black Diamond strategically maps lavalan® only where it is needed for maximum thermo-regulation and moisture management, delivering performance and protection for high-output aerobic activities.
