Mervin Manufacturing - home of Lib Tech, GNU, Roxy, and Bent Metal bindings, is located in Sequim, Washington. With the Olympic Mountains and Straight of San Juan de Fuca nearby, Mervin employees are outdoor enthusiasts, snow sliders, and wave catchers deeply commited to protecting the mountains and oceans of Washington and beyond.

From design, to the sourcing of materials and minimzing and recycling scraps, Mervin has developed the world's most evironmentally conscious board factory.

Some of the many ways in which Mervin lowers their footprint and leads the industry in eco-friendly best-practices:

 - Made in the USA near Canada.
 - Non-petroleum based bio-plastics made from castor beans, called Bio Beans Topsheets.
 - No toxic lacquer clearcoats.
 - Eco-sublimation water-based ink graphics, as opposed to toxic solvent-based silkscreening.
 - Soy-based elastomer sidewalls instead of toxic ABS.
 - Low VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) epoxy resins.
 - Basalt fibers are additive-free and less toxic than fiberglass.
 - Water-cleansed grinding systems to minimize airborn particulates.
 - Renewable forest products. FSC "pure" certified fast growing trees.
 - Sawdust is recycled as a soil additive, scrap wood is donated as kindling.
 - Scrap plastics are recycled and sometimes re-used as sidewall material.
 - Biodiesel factory heating.
 - Finger joining cores so odd length cores do not go to waste.

Not only are Mervin's practices geared towards helping the environment, but they also improve working conditions. By foregoing toxic silkscreening and using water-cleansed grinding, Mervin creates a more healthy work space for employees, too.
