In an exciting step forward, BCA has managed to make their already trustworthy Float Packs even more efficient. The BCA Float 2.0 17 Speed Airbag Pack is 20 percent lighter than last years model and houses a 30 percent lighter cylinder (sold separately.) The cylinder and any system bits and bobbles are kept in a separate compartment, giving you more room for your extra layers and packed lunch. With an overall lighter look and feel, the BCA Float 2.0 17 Speed Airbag Pack is more like a freestyle pack and less like the heavy duty equipment needed to keep you safe.
Pack Volume (With System) – 1,037 cubic inches / 17 liters
Pack Weight (Full System with Full Cylinder) – 5.6 pounds / 2,540 grams
Pack Weight (Full System without Cylinder) – 4.3 pounds / 1,946 grams
Pack Weight (Pack Only) – 2.9 pounds / 1,308 grams
Float 2.0 Airbag System – Nearly 30% smaller and 15% percent lighter than BCA's Float 1.0 engine, the Float 2.0 engine fits inside the Float airbag compartment, freeing up more valuable space in the main compartment. The Float 2.0 is built into their stripped-down, lightweight and durable new Float 17 Speed and Float 27 Speed avalanche airbag packs. Between their sleek new engine and their svelte new packs, BCA shaved 20% off the weight of their Float 1.0 system.

Refilling Your Cylinder – BCA Float cylinders may be refilled either by BCA in Boulder, CO, or at authorized refill stations. Visit www.backcountryaccess.com/air in order to find authorized refill centers in your area. BCA does not recommend attempting to refill cylinders yourself or at non-authorized locations as the process requires training, documentation and parts provided by BCA.
