Area Information
Whistler Trails

On this trip you will be riding 2 days in the bike park, 1-2 days on XC trails in the valley, and an optional add on heli-biking day.

Bike Park: There are four main area within the Whistler Bike Park: Fitzsimmons, Garbanzo, Peak, and Creekside. The Creekside zone is the newest part of the Whistler Bike Park, descending to the Creekside base area rather than the main Whistler Village. Here there are great tech and flow trails for intermediate and advanced riders. There is sure to be more awesome trail development in Creekside in the future, too.

XC Trails: While most folks visit to ride the chairlifts, there are also some world class trails accessed by pedal power. The valley trails are a great option for folks who are looking to avoid the crowds and want to focus on quality over quantity. You won't find any jump trails in the valley but the miles of tech trails are more than double those in the park. Super close to the Whistler Village, the Lost Lake trail network weaves up and down around Lost Lake, which is a great swimming hole on a hot summer day. The trails here are mostly short and rolling, more suitable for a couple quick laps than a full day. The West Side trails are steep with more rock slabs and less loam than the trails across the valley.

AlpX Heli Biking: Riders will be flown to the high alpine in a remote area between Whistler and Pemberton. With options for both strong intermediate and Advanced/Expert skill levels and a mix of technical and flow trail sections, there is a wide variety for all riders to experience some of Whistler’s best biking. Depending on the trail choice, bikers can expect to ride 9km to 13km of trail through either 1300-1600 meters of elevation drop on this incredible adventure through the Sea-to-Sky backcountry.

Trip Planning

Trip Planning

The weather in Whistler is generally pleasant in July, sunny with highs in the mid to upper 70's F and lows around 50 degrees F. It is not very likely to rain but we do recommend being prepared in case it does. The nights can be quite chilly, so make sure to bring a jacket and some warmer layers. Checkout our full article on what to bring mountain biking here.

For this trip, we recommend bringing an enduro style mountain bike with at leat 150mm of travel. This style of bike will allow you to ride the trails and bike park comfortabley. If you are bringing a mountain bike with less travel, or a downhill specific mountain bike, we recommend renting another bike for the other days of the trip that your bike may not be as well suited for. Mountain bike rentals can be obtained from evo Whistler at a 15% discount for trip guests. Please reach out to [email protected] if you have any questions about what bike to bring.

We will also have a WhatsApp channel for our group to ensure easy communication before and during the trip
