We pack the best of natural New Zealand into this women-led trip. You’ll get to explore the New Zealand’s best ski resorts that are Ikon Pass destinations, spend a day heli-skiing in the backcountry, sail through deep fiords and pristine wilderness areas in Milford Sound and experience unique kiwi culture, all while staying in a private lakefront lodge with the best views in Queenstown.

Ski and ride New Zealand’s best on this 7-day women’s adventure, powered by our local partners at Mint Tours. Heli-ski cold ‘kiwi’ powder, deep in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, including 3 heli-ski runs that vary between 1500-2500 ft. Ride treeless alpine terrain in sheltered basins, bowls and wide rolling mountain flanks.

Explore the best ski areas in New Zealand with our local resort guides. Along the way you’ll get tips and insights as you ride The Remarkables and Coronet Peak. The Remarkables has it all. Three sun-drenched, north-facing bowls, up to seven terrain parks, off-piste black runs, chutes, wide-open slopes and everything in between. Coronet Peak is the home of Good Times. This resort packs a huge variety of terrain. When the conditions are good, it's always our first pick for it's endless side-hits and gullies.

Off the slopes, stay at a private lodge that’s magnificently located on the shores of Lake Wakatipu with unrestricted mountain and lake views. All rooms are furnished with 2 beds and an ensuite that is stocked with eco-friendly toiletries. DAY 1

Welcome to New Zealand! Your guides will meet you at Queenstown Airport and transfer to our accommodation. On arrival at our private lodge, you’ll be given a warm welcome and a tour of the house. Unpack, relax and grab a drink and enjoy the incredible views over Lake Wakatipu and snow-covered Cecil Peak. We’ll have the wood-fired hot-tub ready for you to enjoy after a long journey. Once everyone has arrived, we’ll hold a welcome session and go over our itinerary for the tour. Our chef will prepare a grazing board so you can snack, chat, relax and get ready for the adventure ahead. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the lodge with the group.

    Day number 2
    DAYS 2 & 3

Our first two days follow a similar format. Our morning starts with a light and healthy breakfast, smoothies, tea and coffee while taking in the incredible views right from our dining table. Then it’s time to head to The Remarkables Ski Area - Queenstown's biggest resort and the home of freeride in New Zealand. The Remarkables has it all, three sun-drenched, north-facing bowls, up to seven terrain parks, expansive off-piste, chutes, wide-open slopes and everything in between. Each day we will have a morning and afternoon guiding session where you’ll get tips and feedback while you explore the resort.

After a day on the mountain, we may take a detour to a nearby winery or craft brewery for après, or head back to our private lodge to relax in the hot-tub or get a massage. Anything is possible and we will tailor the day’s activities to suit everyone’s interests.

Each evening at the lodge enjoy a glass of local wine or craft beer paired with a grazing board prepared with local produce while sitting around the fire-pit. While all this is happening, our in-house chef is preparing dinner with a focus on locally sourced, healthy and organic ingredients. Sit down for a group dinner at the lodge and catch up on the action from the day.

    DAY 4

Our heli-ski day will be one of the highlights of the trip! We meet early for breakfast so you can fuel up for the day ahead. We’ll load our equipment into the van and then make the drive to our heli staging area. Sit back and enjoy the amazing scenery as we travel to a high country sheep station which is the heli staging area. Once at the station your guides will conduct a safety briefing which includes rescue training and how to use your avalanche safety equipment. They will also brief you on Helicopter Safety. All of the heli-ski guides are trained in avalanche rescue and have a wealth of knowledge that they are happy to share with you. Questions are welcomed and encouraged. We will typically do 3 runs before breaking for lunch in the mountains with an incredible backdrop. We will have a picnic style lunch with sandwiches, snacks and plenty of hot soup, tea and water. In the afternoon we’ll complete any remaining runs. After we have finished riding we will return back to the heli staging area. We’ll then load the vans and head back to Queenstown where we’ll enjoy a group dinner back at the lodge.

Along the way you’ll learn about the region, its history and natural surroundings. Once there, you’ll board a boat cruise through the Fiordland National Park and see towering cliffs and peaks – including the much photographed and iconic Mitre Peak that rises more than a kilometre straight out of the sea. Waterfalls cascade into the fiord and rainforest clings to sheer rock faces in this breathtaking place. We’ll return back to Queenstown in the evening and enjoy a group dinner at the lodge.

Trip Planning

Temperatures during winter in Queenstown usually range from 40-50°F in the day time. The nights are often cold and frosty with the temperature dropping to 28°F on cold nights. The days are short and crisp, but provide incredible blue skies and fresh crisp mornings. Snowfall is sporadic throughout the season and each mountain will receive a different amount of snowfall due to the direction they face. We recommend that guests have a good quality waterproof jacket and pants, lightweight insulated layer, merino base layers, merino gloves and waterproof gloves, goggles with low light & high light lenses, sunglasses, balaclava, beanie, and helmet. We recommend that all guests bring their own ski or snowboarding equipment for the tour (board, boots, bindings & outerwear).

Testimonials
I've been on 6 Mint Tours (and counting) and cannot recommend the company highly enough. Whether you need a crew to ride with, want to know where the best powder is hidden or want to progress your skills you will be in safe hands with Mint. You will get so much more out of these trips than you will hitting the mountains with a group of your friends, but hey, the more the merrier so bring your crew with you or just come on your own.
